The Blue Jays announced that Bautista was back in the lineup for Monday's game against Boston:
TSN's Scott MacArthur provided a comment from the outfielder:
Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reported earlier that Bautista "feels good enough to play, told John Gibbons he's ready to DH."
MacArthur reported on April 26 that Bautista was undergoing acupuncture to rehab his injured shoulder. He was listed as day-to-day, but the team was hopeful that he'd play in its series against Boston, which starts Monday.
On April 23, Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos discussed Bautista's injury, saying, "That was the hardest I've ever seen him throw a ball (vs. Bal), I'm optimistic by Monday he'll be DH'ing," according to MLB Network Radio's Twitter feed.
Jeff Blair of Sportsnet broke the news of Bautista's injury on April 22:
Bautista is one of the most consistent sources of power in the majors. He drilled 35 home runs and drove in 103 runs in 2014. At his peak, he hit 54 homers and tallied 124 RBI in the 2010 season.
He's currently batting just .149 but has four homers and 10 RBI through 14 games.
Bautista has three Silver Slugger Awards on his resume and finished in the top six of American League MVP voting in 2010, 2011 and 2014.
