Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints: Live New Orleans Score and Analysis
With the NFC South title and a playoff spot on the line, the New Orleans Saints lost at home to their divisional rivals, the Atlanta Falcons, 30-14.
The Saints couldn't have gotten off to a better start, as Jalen Saunders raced 99 yards on the opening kickoff to set up a Mark Ingram touchdown. After that, things went downhill for New Orleans.
Drew Brees and the Saints high-powered offense were handcuffed for the rest of the first half, and the going didn't much better in the third quarter. Brees, who finished with two interceptions and two fumbles, was off-target on his throws for the majority of the afternoon. He was also under heavy duress from Atlanta's pass rush.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
As for New Orleans' own pass rush, it was non-existent. Matt Ryan picked apart the Saints defense with little-to-no resistance from the New Orleans front four, as the Falcons went over 400 yards of offense. Julio Jones was Ryan's top target, and he finished with over 100 yards receiving on seven catches.
After the Saints defense forced a punt with just under three minutes remaining, New Orleans had an opportunity to drive and take the lead, down by only six. Deep in his own territory, Brees then threw a crucial interception to Robert McClain, which led to an Atlanta field goal.
New Orleans mounted a quick drive in the game's final two minutes, but their last effort ended on a sour note. On the last play of the game, Brees fumbled deep in Atlanta territory. Osi Umenyiora then picked up the loose ball and ran 86 yards for a score, taunting the Saints defenders along the way.
With the Carolina Panthers' victory over the Cleveland Browns, the Saints (6-9) are now eliminated from playoff contention, and they'll close out their season next week at Tampa Bay.
