Worst Case Scenario: Tennessee Volunteers

Biggest Asset: The Unknown, Team Leaders
Unlike last year’s predictable, disastrous and ultimately fatal Tennessee Volunteers Football team, this year’s team features something that Tennessee opponents haven’t faced in the past 17 years; a completely unknown bag of tricks.
Phillip Fulmer had been the head coach at Tennessee since 1992, but this year when that Volunteers' run out on to the field, they’re going to have something new, something fresh, and something unknown to throw at the other team. Some say that it’s a liability for Tennessee, but after 17 years of the same thing, I consider the unknown a major asset.
The other asset I believe Tennessee has is team leaders.
There is little doubt in my mind that Eric Berry is the best defensive player in the SEC.
While there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that he’s the best safety in the SEC and probably the country. Berry will lead a somewhat loaded Tennessee defense and on offense, Tennessee’s returning Junior Quarterback, Jonathan Crompton may just be ready to finally lead his team.
Biggest Liability: Being a target
Phillip Fulmer was one to stir the pot, but Lane Kiffin makes Fulmer look like Mother Teresa.
Kiffin has been called out by the Raiders. Which is a good time to say, if the RAIDERS think you suck, then you have issues.
Kiffin has also run off a strength and conditioning coach. He also managed to piss off Urban Meyer. Steve Spurrier did manage to put Lane Kiffin in his place this offseason though. Then Kiffin accused Les Miles of cheating. Meanwhile, Kiffin has players dropping like files. But he doesn’t seem too concerned as he commits violation after violation anyways.
Listen, I know that everything I mentioned happened off the field, and I know that the only thing that matters are wins and losses on the field. The point I’m trying to make is that Kiffin has so many targets that he’s writing checks we don’t know if his players can cash or not.
Where They Could Stumble: Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Mississippi
Worst Case Scenario: 5-7
I guess Tennessee had to get rid of Fulmer. They were tired of their Volunteers becoming nothing more than mediocre year after year.
Last year Tennessee finished 5-7 in Fulmer’s last year.
While their team is extremely talented, I truly believe their coach is going to stand in their way of being an 8-4 team this year. With Florida putting a good ole’ fashion whipping on them in the 3rd game of the year, the Volunteers struggle to get five wins, ands, at the end of the year, Phillip Fulmer is smiling somewhere, while the Tennessee Nation is wondering what they have gotten themselves into.
