Turbin Comments Ahead of Expected Debut
Friday, Oct. 16
On Thursday, Turbin said he will play Sunday, per Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon-Journal. Tony Grossi of ESPNCleveland.com provided additional comments from Turbin on Friday:
"I’m excited. I really can’t wait for Sunday. It’s been a long five weeks. Coming back from injury is always tough. Being released is always tough. (I’m) excited about another opportunity and looking forward to making the most of it. ...
I’m going to go out there and play my game. I’m not going to be too overly excited. I’ve prepared well this week. Spent a lot of extra time learning the offense, spent a lot of extra time on the field. I feel ready to go. Obviously being out so long, sometimes your emotions get the best of you, but I think once kickoff starts and I get a couple carries, I think all of that will settle down.

Latest on Turbin's Practice Status Ahead of Week 6

The Browns announced Turbin was limited in practice all week.
How Turbin Impacts Browns Backfield
The Browns brought the 25-year-old aboard when they released quarterback-turned-receiver Terrelle Pryor.
Although the Browns have two promising young backs in rookie Duke Johnson and Isaiah Crowell, they need to have a solid passing game to discourage opponents from crowding the box with defenders.
Turbin has a similar build to Crowell at 5'10", 222 pounds, with ample power and explosiveness. Rotoworld suggests "Turbin could cut into Crowell's workload whenever he gets back to 100 percent."
Stuck behind Marshawn Lynch in Seattle, Turbin might finally shine in Cleveland. He is entering his fourth year as a pro, has a career average of four yards per carry for 928 yards rushing and had 16 receptions for 186 yards and two touchdowns in 2014.
With Josh McCown under center and a dearth of top-flight weapons in the receiving corps, it stands to reason the Browns will lean on the run quite often.
