Peewee Sports Kids Being Adorable
Little kids playing sports is generally pretty adorable.
Peewee, at least in this article, doesn’t just mean football. Here, we’re talking about little kids performing sports functions. Most often that’s playing the sports, but it could also be a couple of adorable pint-sized reporters or a mini-me basketball coach.
Who doesn’t love a three-year-old tossing a gorgeous first pitch or a young golfer emulating Tiger Woods? Who is the cutest of all? Let’s find out.
Toddler Goal
1 of 12Not every young child gets to score his or her first soccer goal to the raucous cheers of a packed stadium.
Then again, if you’re the son of a professional goalkeeper, you might. According to Matthew Nash of Metro, Josh Turnbull, young son of Ross Turnbull, trotted out on the field with a ball following a Chelsea victory in May 2013.
The PA announcer attempted to make some unrelated announcements, but soon enough, the crown turned its attention to the toddler.
Martial Artist
2 of 12I would definitely not want to mess with this five-year-old girl. She appears to be some type of martial arts wizard, performing moves with precision and confidence.
She appears very serious, but man is she cute.
Richard Sherman Interview
3 of 12You remember that Richard Sherman interview, right? Yeah, that one.
Well, two adorable kids decided to re-enact the now-famous scene. Highlights of the video include: what appears to be some type of dinosaur helmet, spontaneous laughter at the sound of the name “Crabtree” and the inevitable forgetting of lines.
Well done, to all involved.
Peewee Super Bowl
4 of 12Little kids being intense is always a cute scene. The first 40 seconds of this video depict the coach asking his Hilltop Mini Hawks if they’re ready for a big game.
He’s answered with a chorus of emphatic “yes sirs” and one adorable peace sign from the kid at the end of the line.
Trick-Shot Titus
5 of 12Two-year-old Titus Ashby became a YouTube sensation in 2013 when his legendary trick-shot abilities became public knowledge.
His fame became so widespread that he appeared on Today and Jimmy Kimmel Live! He also apparently owned Bradley Cooper and Channing Tatum in a trick-shot contest.
Baseball Slide
6 of 12In 2010, an adorable three-year-old named Eli slid into home plate at the urging of the crowd during a T-ball game.
The problem was that Eli didn’t quite make it all the way to the plate. He slid, stood up, threw his arms up in jubilation and pumped his fist, but his foot never did quite make it onto the plate.
Little Coach
7 of 12Phil Martelli is the head men’s basketball coach at St. Joseph’s University.
His grandson Phillip just might be a coach-in-waiting. The adorable youngster was caught on camera attending a game in May 2014, mimicking his grandfather’s every move.
From the suit to the crossed arms and the dry-erase marker, Martelli’s little mini-me certainly looked the part.
Hockey Fight
8 of 12This is certainly not meant to condone fighting, but it doesn’t appear that anyone was hurt in this peewee hockey brawl. In fact, both boys looked a bit timid and unsure of themselves.
After being pushed down on the ice, young JJ got up and dropped his gloves. It’s hard not to laugh at the cuteness of a six-year-old dropping his gloves, ready for action.
Statue of Liberty
9 of 12In 2013, a peewee football team by the name of the Suniland Sundevils ran a Statue of Liberty play, and they nailed it. The ball-carrier ran into the corner of the end zone practically untouched.
It was the stuff of legends, reminiscent of Boise State in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl.
Tiny Tiger
10 of 12James “Baby James” Grimes was three years old when this video was captured in April 2014, but he could still school most people on the golf course.
Apparently, Grimes is quite the prodigy, having started his golf career at just 18 months old.
While watching this video, you cannot help but notice the red polo and what appears to be (maybe) a Tiger Woods-inspired fist pump?
Christian Haupt
11 of 12Christian Haupt was three years old when he threw out the first pitch of a Los Angeles Dodgers game in 2012—after finishing up his first day at preschool.
According to the Ventura County Star, Haupt is a huge Dodgers fan, and his favorite player is Clayton Kershaw. In his big moment, he adorably shook off a few signs before winding up and firing a beautiful pitch to kick off the game.
Banner Fail
12 of 12If this isn’t reminiscent of Little Giants, then nothing is.
The six- and seven-year-old football players that make up the Wallkill Mighty Mites wanted to celebrate a big win. Unfortunately, their decision to run through a banner might not have been the best.
The Mites were unable to break through, and an adorable pileup ensued.
