NFL Trade Deadline 2014: Date, End Time, Rumors and Predictions
Although in-season trades are not as common in the NFL as other sports, there are still plenty of chances for impact players to change teams.
The New York Jets made an eye-opening deal to acquire Percy Harvin from the Seattle Seahawks. There were reports the receiver was not getting along with teammates, but there is no denying that he is a game-changing talent at his best, and he could make a big impact going forward.
With many other teams looking to improve for the stretch run, look for a few more deals to be completed before the deadline. Here is all the information you need to know about the trade deadline along with the latest rumors and predictions from around the league.

Top Players on the Block
Vincent Jackson, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
After a poor start to the season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it would not be surprising to see anyone available in a trade.
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com first reported that Vincent Jackson could be one of the players dealt from the struggling team:
Jackson has the talent to be one of the top receivers in the league, thanks mostly to his 6'5" frame and the ability to go up and get jump balls. He had at least 1,000 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in each of the last three seasons and remains a top option in the red zone.
The problem is that he has been limited by quarterback play this season between Josh McCown and Mike Glennon. Jackson has been one of the most targeted players in the NFL but only brings in about half of the throws his way.
It is clear he could be in for a lot more production in a better system.
Despite this, he explained he is not interested in being traded, via Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times:
"In this business, those kind of things get talked about quite often. Each and every year, there's going to be guys moved around to different teams. I'm not surprised by it. Obviously I appreciate teams' interest, but I'm happy here in Tampa. I've heard nothing here that would suggest I'm going anywhere. I'm going to let that pass on and keep doing my job.
"
The player might not want to leave, and the team might not want to deal him, but there are a lot of teams who could use someone of his ability, starting with the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs or Seattle Seahawks. If a bidding war begins, it might be difficult for the front office to say no.
That being said, the Buccaneers are going to do their best to hold onto one of the most talented players on the roster.
Prediction: Vincent Jackson stays put
Nate Washington, WR, Tennessee Titans

Another possible receiving option available for teams is Nate Washington, who has been underwhelming this season for the Tennessee Titans. Despite the struggles, Rapoport noted the team has been receiving calls for the veteran:
One of the big problems with any deal, though, is Washington's salary, as noted by Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean:
Any team considering bringing him in would have to think about whether he is worth the cost considering his lack of production. Conversely, this might allow the Titans to be more willing to make a trade.
Similar to Jackson, Washington has been limited by poor quarterback play as the Titans have rotated Jake Locker, Charlie Whitehurst and Zach Mettenberger during this season. The difference is that Tennessee also has better options in the passing game.
Kendall Wright, Justin Hunter and tight end Delanie Walker make up a quality receiving corps for any NFL team. Washington is little more than a luxury with other young players stepping up around him.
This makes a trade a little more likely than some others, and there are plenty of teams interested. One option is the Cincinnati Bengals, who need help with A.J. Green and Marvin Jones still injured. Washington could be an immediate upgrade at receiver for a team that needs help.
Prediction: Nate Washington is traded to Bengals
Tony Carter, CB, Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos made some major upgrades to the defense this offseason, which resulted in some of the previous contributors seeing a lot less playing time.
Tony Carter played in 12 games last season at cornerback, starting twice. However, the additions of Aqib Talib and Bradley Roby have pushed the 28-year-old player down the depth chart, and he has now only appeared in three games all season, accumulating two tackles.
This makes it no surprise he could be available in a trade, according to Rapoport:
Despite the lack of playing time this season, Carter is still an experienced cornerback who could represent an immediate upgrade for many top teams around the NFL. Contenders like the Arizona Cardinals or Philadelphia Eagles have struggled at times to defend the pass all year and could use an upgrade in any form.
Still, the most likely option might be the New Orleans Saints, who have struggled on both sides of the ball this year but still have the talent to make a run. The key will be to upgrade a cornerback group that seemingly cannot stop anyone through the air.
Carter will not bring a Super Bowl, but he can be a small upgrade that will be a big help for a team in need.
Prediction: Tony Carter is traded to Saints
