Pitching Battle: Jake Peavy vs. Yordano Ventura

This matchup will be a battle of two pitchers with contrasting styles at very different points in their careers.
Jake Peavy was once one of the best pitchers in baseball, winning the National League Cy Young Award in 2007. The 33-year-old veteran has certainly lost some zip on his fastball, but he had a great second half of the year with the Giants, positing a 2.17 ERA in 12 starts.
Most importantly, he knows what it takes to win after being a part of the Boston Red Sox's championship run last season. He feels this team has a lot of similarities, via Jesse Spector of Sporting News:
He has not been able to go deep in games during the playoffs, but he has the ability to keep his opponent off the scoreboard.
Meanwhile, Yordano Ventura does not have the same experience but will rely simply on his overpowering stuff to get hitters out. He has one of the best fastballs in the majors and can locate his breaking ball for strikes, making it almost impossible for opponents to hit.
The question is whether he can keep pitching the way he is capable of this late in the season. After an excellent start in the American League Division Series against the Los Angeles Angels (one run in seven innings), he allowed four runs to the Baltimore Orioles before being removed with shoulder tightness. Jon Morosi of Fox Sports 1 notes how the innings might be starting to get to him:
Still, manager Ned Yost believes in the 23-year-old pitcher enough to trust him in an important Game 2, and we can assume Ventura is healthy.
Ventura can be a bit inconsistent if he struggles with his command, but he can win a game almost by himself when he is on. This will be a huge boost for the Royals if he can pitch to his ability.
Prediction: Royals 4, Giants 1

The Giants certainly have the more intimidating middle of the order with Buster Posey, Hunter Pence, Pablo Sandoval and Brandon Belt all capable of driving in runs. However, the Royals have shown throughout the playoffs that anyone in their lineup can come through with a big play when needed.
All the talk about the lack of home runs during the season was proven to be a non-issue in the playoffs. Kansas City continues to hit the long ball in October.
The Royals also have the advantage defensively, especially in the outfield:
Add in one of the better bullpens in the majors, and Kansas City should be able to fare well throughout the series. As long as Ventura gives the team the start he is capable of providing, the Royals should be able to take Game 2 at home.
