Twitter Reacts to Alexis Sanchez's Performance vs. Hull City

Arsenal's 2-2 draw against Hull City on Saturday wasn't the awe-inspiring performance Arsene Wenger was seeking from his men, but the Gunners had at least one hero in Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean international continued his north London rise by netting the opener inside 13 minutes, popping up later in the fixture to set Danny Welbeck up for a late equaliser, per the official Arsenal Twitter account:

It was a mixed bag for the Gunners, who showed early promise but were ultimately left feeling a familiar regret due to lack of depth in reserves.

Their makeshift defence allowed Mohamed Diame and Abel Hernandez to make good on two Tigers chances, and WhoScored.com shows a similarly clinical trait in Sanchez's form this term:

Taking little time to adapt to the Premier League, the former Barcelona star has been consistently willing to work for his new side in all regards.

Bleacher Report's James McNicholas emphasised as much, hailing the South American's work rate and perhaps hinting that he deserved to take away more from Saturday's matchup:

The Guardian's Amy Lawrence was also left impressed with Sanchez's display, noting the array of attributes shown in the build-up to his first goal:

WhoScored ultimately handed Wenger's wing wizard Man of the Match honours for his troubles, and despite the disappointment of a draw, Sanchez at least continues to show glimpses of magic in north London:

As the biggest acquisition of Arsenal's summer transfer window, Sanchez would be expected to impress as a Premier League player, but this was a display of one-man-army proportions.

So impressed were some among the Arsenal legions, in fact, that they took to Twitter voicing the opinion that the club doesn't deserve him:

Wenger will undoubtedly feel different but nonetheless appreciative of his attacker's contributions, and even in the gloom of this result, Sanchez's performance was a major positive.

With renewed fitness among the squad and a higher standard running through the rest of the team, the manager can hope to see others in the line-up match the qualities of their new sensation moving forward.
