Man City vs. Tottenham: Highlights, Goals & Bloopers

John GreelyOct 18, 2014

Manchester City hosted Tottenham on Saturday in the most anticipated Premier League match of the week, and it certainly got off to a flyer.

The first half alone featured three goals and a saved penalty!

Sergio Aguero (who else?) got City on the board in the 13th minute with his stunning effort above.

Christian Eriksen struck back immediately for Spurs, powering a low shot just past Joe Hart.

Aguero brought City back in front after a questionable penalty decision. Erik Lamela was adjudged to have fouled Frank Lampard in the box, but the replays did not seem to show a lot of contact.

After a significantly more obvious penalty decision against Younes Kaboul, Aguero had the chance to complete his first-half hat-trick and make it 3-1. This time, Hugo Lloris won the battle.

Roberto Soldado earned a dubious penalty for Tottenham in the 62nd minute, and then stepped up to the spot to try to level the score at 2 goals apiece. His tame effort was stopped by Hart.

Moments later, referee John Moss gave an amazing FOURTH penalty, and this time the offender Federico Fazio saw red for stopping a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Aguero did not miss, converting his hat trick.

The irrepressible Argentine scored a fourth in the 75th minute, bringing the score to 4-1 against the 10-man visitors.
