Additions and Upgrades Gamers Will Enjoy
There was some negative feedback to last year’s game, but the developers at EA Sports were determined to answer the bell. The result is one of the most anticipated basketball games in years.
The company has refocused its attention on player models and lighting. With the need to upgrade the game design for the next-gen consoles anyway, EA Sports has drastically upgraded the appearance of the players and the fundamental physics.
One of the biggest upgrades for the physics is the play in the low post. Major changes have been made to the realism of bumping bodies, and the company has added over 100 new animations for the contact inside the paint.
Another change that fans were calling for is a more responsive control system. One of the biggest strengths of NBA Live’s rival NBA 2K is the control gamers have over the players, and EA Sports has leveled the playing field. Whether it’s making cuts or pulling up for shots, gamers will have more control than ever.
As a fan of the sport of basketball first and foremost, one of the most underrated upgrades is the simplification of playing defense. While many gamers want the ability to become an offensive star, playing defense is fun and a huge part of the sport. In NBA Live 15, playing defense is easier to figure out than ever and allows gamers to enjoy shutting down an opposing player with a game-changing block.
Online play is also a huge part of next-gen gaming, and EA Sports is at the forefront with this year’s NBA Live release. In addition to the standard ranked matchups, there are also Head-to-Head Seasons and Best-of-Seven Series options.
For gamers looking for a long-term experience, the Seasons online mode should be exactly what they desire. For a short-term experience, a seven-game series against your friend or a random stranger will be a great test of your ability.
Add in improvements to the Dynasty mode and Ultimate Team mode, and this year’s release of NBA Live 15 looks to be a drastic improvement over the previous release. EA Sports listened to the fan feedback and made the necessary changes.
