PGA Grand Slam of Golf 2014: Tee Times, Dates, TV Schedule and Prize Money
A few of the sport's biggest names might be absent, but it's hard to find a more fearsome foursome than the one set to play at the Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda on Tuesday at the 2014 Grand Slam of Golf.
Last year's winner Adam Scott will not be part of the field, but the event isn't lacking star power.
World No. 1 Rory McIlroy, Martin Kaymer, Jim Furyk and Bubba Watson will compete for their share of the $1.35 million purse. The beautiful backdrop should provide a cool contrast for a fierce competition between four of the world's best players.
Here's how the payouts will be distributed among the four players, per PGATour.com.
- First Place: $600,000
- Second place $300,000
- Third place $250,000
- Fourth place $200,000

Over two days, the players will compete in the 36-hole, stroke play event. The winner will be the man with the lowest cumulative score after two rounds. Here's a closer look at all four players.
Player: Bubba Watson
Age: 35
Majors won (2): 2012; 2014 Masters
Best Grand Slam finish: T3, 2012

Based on his Masters win, Watson earned an invitation to this year's event. His performances at the other three majors were disappointing to say the least.
Watson missed the cut at The Open and U.S. Open, while he finished 64th at the PGA Championship. He was also on the losing end in every one of his 2014 Ryder Cup matchups, including a head-to-head loss to Kaymer on singles day.
He'll need to step it up to have a chance at winning on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Player: Martin Kaymer
Age: 29
Majors won (2): 2010 PGA Championship; 2014 U.S. Open
Best Grand Slam finish: T3, 2010 at Port Royal

Kaymer solidified his place among the very best in the game in 2014. He won his second major and also captured The Players Championship. In addition, Kaymer was part of the triumphant European Ryder Cup team in which he lost just one matchup he played in.
He had some ups and downs later in the season, but the young German could be a force in this event.
Player: Rory McIlroy
Age: 25
Majors won (4): 2011 U.S. Open; 2012 PGA Championship; 2014 Open Championship; 2014 PGA Championship
Best Grand Slam finish: Third, 2012 at Port Royal

Rory took over as "the Dude" in the sport after winning two majors and the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. He's the world's top-rated player, and his very public relationship and breakup with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki made him as much of a celebrity off the course as he is on it.
Because of his dominance and polarizing qualities, McIlroy has become the favorite and most-watched player in almost every tournament he participates in.
Player: Jim Furyk
Age: 44
Majors won (1): 2003 U.S. Open
Best Grand Slam finish: Won in 2003 at Poipu Bay Golf Course in Hawaii and in 2008 at Mid Ocean Club in Tucker's Town, Bermuda

Furyk is the elder statesman in the group, but he had an excellent 2014. He didn't get a win, but he had 11 top-10 finishes, never missed a cut and he didn't finish lower than 14th in any of the four major tournaments.
Having won the event two other times, smart money should be on Furyk to win the Grand Slam again.
