Mismatches Everywhere

SERRAVALLE, ITALY - OCTOBER 15: San Marino line up prior to the FIFA 2014 World Cup Qualifier Group H match between San Marino and Ukraine at Serravalle Stadium on October 15, 2013 in Serravalle, Italy. (Photo by Gabriele Maltinti/Getty Images)

Everybody likes a good Cinderella story, but the schedule for Matchday 2 is packed with fixtures that have the potential to be massive blowouts. England will be hosting San Marino, Liechtenstein have to take on Montenegro, Andorra face a trip to Belgium and Gibraltar travel to the Republic of Ireland.

England looked very solid in their 2-0 win over Switzerland, and Roy Hodgson didn't sound very worried about lowly San Marino when he discussed his plan to rest starting goalkeeper Joe Hart in favour of one of his backups, via The Guardian's Amy Lawrence:

"

I would like to think that against San Marino, our goalkeeper isn’t going to be the busiest person on the field, so I would be very confident to go into the game with any one of those goalkeepers. But whichever decision we make, we’ll expect the other goalkeepers to accept it.

"

San Marino are currently ranked 208th in the FIFA rankings with a grand total of 0 points. A trip to Wembley would be a daunting prospect for any squad, but for a team whose biggest official win was a 1-0 victory over Liechtenstein back in 2004, things could get ugly on Thursday.

Squawka's James McManus just about summed up how fans feel about the fixture:

Belgium have yet to play their first European qualifier, but they too appear set to thrash the small state of Andorra, who surprised everyone by putting together a solid performance against Wales on Matchday 1.

Not all of these teams will lose big over the course of Matchday 2, but if ever there was a chance for several massive blowouts in one go, this week would be it.

Bosnia-Herzegovina Already Facing Must-Win Scenario

A 2-1 loss to Cyprus on Matchday 1 has the Bosnian squad in early trouble in Group B, and Friday's trip to Wales already feels like a must-win match.

With Belgium and Israel also vying for tickets to Euro 2016, Group B is one of the more balanced groups around. None of the top teams can afford to drop points at home against lowly Cyprus, and now the Bosnian team will be forced to play catch-up.

The Welsh are understandably excited about Friday's fixture, and they smell blood in the water. As shared by BBC Radio Wales' Ian Hamer, there could be a record crowd on hand:

Gareth Bale thinks the visitors are facing a crisis, via BHDragons, and he's not wrong:

Bosnia simply looked flat against Cyprus after a promising opening 10 minutes, and Safet Susic is facing some pressure after a group-stage exit during the 2014 World Cup and the poor start to Euro 2016 qualifiers.

With a difficult match against group-favourites Belgium next on the schedule, Bosnia simply can't afford to drop any points in Wales.

Big Week for British Isles

England shouldn't have any issues against San Marino, and hope springs eternal for their neighbours too. Wales could take a giant step toward a ticket to the final tournament with a win over Bosnia, and hosting Cyprus next, there's a genuine possibility they could open a gap up to nine points.

Scotland looked very impressive in their opening fixture against Germany, and if their form holds, they should beat Georgia at home. The same holds for Ireland, who play minnows Gibraltar.

Both teams could take advantage of the match between favourites Germany and Poland on Saturday, firmly positioning themselves near the top of the standings. It's doubtful both teams will qualify for the final tournament, but with a solid outing on Matchday 2 and a potential loss from Poland, anything is possible.
