Manchester United vs. Everton: Reaction from Louis Van Gaal and Roberto Martinez
Louis van Gaal was baffled by David De Gea's performance on Sunday, as the Spanish goalkeeper produced a number of incredible saves to give Manchester United a 2-1 win over Everton. As shared by the club's Twitter feed, he could only conclude his stopper was "great:"
Angel Di Maria was once again in the thick of the action for the Mancunians, scoring the opening goal in the first half and inadvertently assisting Radamel Falcao on his first ever goal for United with a fluffed shot. Falcao's strike would prove to be the difference.

The real star of the afternoon was De Gea, however, saving a Leighton Baines penalty in the first half and producing a series of stunning saves in the final 10 minutes to preserve the win for his team. Steven Naismith scored for the visitors early in the second half.
Roberto Martinez thought his team deserved better, but De Gea was simply too good on Sunday, via the Premier League's Twitter feed:
The 23-year-old stopper explained his final stop, an incredible flying reflex-save, was just as much luck as it was skill:
He wasn't the only player who impressed on Sunday. Di Maria continued his excellent start to life in the Premier League, and his coach also noticed:
United dominated the first half but allowed the Toffees too much space after half-time, and Van Gaal wasn't happy with the fact his squad can't seem to produce the same consistency for 90 minutes, via The Independent's Ian Herbert:
Luke Shaw left the pitch in the second half with an apparent knee injury, and via the club's Twitter feed, he was taken off to prevent the issue getting any worse:
Martinez elaborated on De Gea's fine performance, via nsno.co.uk, while voicing his disappointment with the manner in which United scored the winning goal. According to the Spaniard, the officials should have stopped play when Steven Pienaar went down with an injury:
"There were few chances, it was a bit open and David de Gea made two world class saves that probably stopped us from getting a positive result. But even then I felt we were creating chances and the second half performance deserved more than we got.
We finished really strong at the end.
I’m really disappointed with the second goal though. Steven Pienaar is on the ground and we’d made it clear we wanted to make a change but the referee allowed the game to go on and we’re disappointed with that.
It was a game full of fair play with both sets of players playing the game in the right manner but I think the referee made a bad error there.
We wanted to get a positive result and you look at the chances created, David de Gea pulled out a world class save at the end of the game.
"
The win sees Manchester United (temporarily) enter the top four for the first time since August 2013, as the Red Devils have won back-to-back matches for the first time under Van Gaal.
United will visit West Bromwich after the international break, another excellent opportunity for the team to continue building momentum.
The Toffees are winless in three fixtures and closer to the relegation zone than the European places, this year's ambition. Martinez will need to turn things around in a hurry, but a visit from Aston Villa will present another big challenge in two weeks' time.
