Sunday, Oct. 5 Update

Chelsea maintained their unbeaten start to the season on Sunday as they beat Arsenal 2-0 at home and moved five points clear at the top of the table.
Eden Hazard's penalty and Diego Costa's ninth league goal of the season were enough for Jose Mourinho's side to take all three points against an uninspiring Gunners.
Arsene Wenger clashed with Mourinho in the first half, pushing the Portuguese manager in the chest in response to a poor Gary Cahill tackle, per Bleacher Report UK:
However, it was convincing from the Blues on the pitch and they certainly look like the team to beat this season.
Manchester United meanwhile broke into the top four for the first time in over a year as they beat Everton 2-1 at Old Trafford, Radamel Falcao's first goal for the club proving to be the winner.

Steven Naismith's fourth goal of the season had cancelled out Angel Di Maria's opener before Falcao pounced on an attempted shot from the Argentine and fired home just after the hour.
It was still not wholly convincing from the Red Devils and David de Gea had to make two world-class saves late on to prevent an equaliser, adding to the Leighton Baines penalty he kept out on the stroke of half-time, per Everton boss Roberto Martinez (h/t Samuel Luckhurst of the Huffington Post):
Louis van Gaal will no doubt be satisfied with back-to-back wins but there is still a long way to go before United can be seen as title contenders once again.
Tottenham claimed an important three points at home to Southampton, Christian Eriksen's first-half goal enough for the North London outfit to claim their first win in five games and move them up the table to sixth.
Meanwhile, West Ham now sit just one place further back after Sam Allardyce's side convincingly downed QPR 2-0 at home after a Nedum Onuoha own-goal and Diafra Sakho strike.
Harry Redknapp's side have now lost five of their first seven games and sit bottom of the table. Although it is still early in the season, QPR look destined to return to the Championship if their form does not turn around quickly.
Saturday, Oct. 4 Update

Liverpool and Manchester City recorded hard-fought wins over West Brom and Aston Villa, respectively, while Burnley came up with some late heroics to draw Leicester City 2-2 and end their goalless streak.
Adam Lallana gave the Reds the lead against West Brom on the stroke of half-time, but the visitors were gifted the equaliser when referee Michael Oliver pointed to the penalty spot for a foul that clearly happened outside of the box.
Saido Berahino didn't miss, but Liverpool TV's John Bradley clearly didn't agree with the decision:
Jordan Henderson restored the lead in the 61st minute, ensuring the Reds broke their three-match domestic winless streak.
Henderson played in a more advanced role on Saturday, and via Liverpoolfc.com's James Carroll and Phil Reade, manager Brendan Rodgers believed that was key to his team's win:
"We flipped the midfield triangle about and played with Stevie controlling and Jordan just in advance of that. It gave him more licence to go into the corridor.
He's the one player in the country that can really dominate a game without the ball due to his running capacity. He has great physicality in the game and today was about trying to get him forward that bit more and encouraging him to go [forward].
"
The Citizens needed late goals from Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero to beat Aston Villa 2-0 in a match that saw Christian Benteke make his long-awaited return to the pitch.
The hosts put in a solid effort against City, who once again looked flat and devoid of inspiration. David Silva was active around the box but failed to find the gap in the defence for much of the afternoon, to manager Manuel Pellegrini's frustration.
Toure eventually broke the deadlock with a brilliant solo effort before Aguero put the lid on the match. Via OptaJoe, his scoring record away from the Emirates has been strong of late:
Alan Pardew managed to guide Newcastle United to a 2-2 draw against Swansea, but the Magpies faithful likely won't change their stance on his future, as evidenced by this sign, via TalkSPORT's Stan Collymore:
Sunderland and Stoke City both kept the three points at home, but the afternoon's most exciting fixture was undoubtedly the one between Premier League newcomers Leicester City and Burnley.
Jeffrey Schlupp gave the hosts the lead before Michael Kightly equalised, ending the Clarets' five-match goalless streak. Riyad Mahrez restored the Foxes' lead before half-time, and it appeared as if the hosts would hold on for a third league win this season.
Burnley had one last chance to grab an equaliser six minutes into stoppage time. Ross Wallace lined up for a free-kick and converted in dramatic fashion, sparking wild celebrations on the touchline. Wallace couldn't hide his excitement, via the league's official Twitter feed:
