Argentina vs. Australia: Date, Time, Live Stream, TV Info and Rugby Preview

Tom SunderlandOct 2, 2014

Another Rugby Championship has gone by without Argentina managing to claim their maiden victory in the southern hemisphere tournament, but Daniel Hourcade's men will seek to reverse that rut with the visit of Australia on Saturday.

In the final contest of the 2014 competition, the Pumas and Wallabies have nothing to lose from their closing encounter, with New Zealand having already wrapped up their third successive title.

However, those terms may yet produce a thrilling encounter in Mendoza, where both sides will have an air of experimentation about them in the search for evolution.

Key Players to Watch

Argentina: Agustin Creevy

Agustin Creevy was named as something of a shock captain candidate for Argentina prior to the tournament's beginning, but the hooker has been a fine leader for the South Americans from the front of their strongest asset.

The Pumas pack has shown a capacity to duel with their Rugby Championship peers in near enough every aspect of the tight game, and albeit not as strong in open play, Creevy has lived up to his billing as the man in charge.

Upon being named Hourcade's captain back in July, Creevy was quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "This is an immense joy. I did not expect this as there are many other players with important qualities. I receive it with great honour and I hope to keep guiding our players."

Despite his relatively minimal reputation, the Worcester Warrior has been a fine asset to have at the set piece, something Australia have by no means ruled with as much authority as Saturday's foes.

In his final outing of the championship, Creevy will look to capitalise upon Ewen McKenzie's uncertainty at the hooker position with an exploiting display of his own.

Australia: Tevita Kuridrani

The way he goes about his business, one wouldn't guess that Tevita Kuridrani is still just 23 years of age, unafraid of the other mauling midfield maestros he's taken on in recent months.

Horacio Agulla lines up as the Brumbies star's opposite number this weekend, and once again McKenzie's outside centre will look to be the penetrative force Australia have enjoyed working off of in their last few games.

Despite appearing off the bench in his first two games, Kuridrani isn't so far behind the other carrying icons of the Rugby Championship, and Rugby World's Paul Williams heaped praise on the centre for his display against South Africa last week:

In a team full of slots that are open to competition, the youngster may be showing why he deserves to be picked in future as the outright No. 13, and he'll hope to prove that with another powerhouse performance against the Pumas.
