Analyzing Potential for Randy Orton to Be the Next Anti-Authority Babyface
When Randy Orton turned heel all the way back at SummerSlam last year, it kicked off another hugely successful run as a heel that has spanned all the way to the present day.
Whether working as a babyface or a heel, Orton has a unique ability of being able to pull off both roles to a great degree of success. Orton remains one of the WWE's most important talents after well over 10 years in the business, and he proved his worth to the company again with a solid showing at Night of Champions.
The concept surrounding The Authority was a great one, especially when you factored in the massive popularity of Daniel Bryan as a genuine rival for the group. It elevated Orton to great heights, arguably the WWE's most consistently good heel. But in the last couple of months, things have started to change.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
With "Corporate" Kane still acting as one of Triple H's stooges, and Seth Rollins arguably the golden boy of The Authority, it has left Orton scratching around for any sort of convincing direction.
A rivalry against Chris Jericho at Night of Champions (which was put together without much thought) indicates exactly where Orton is at the moment. He's not in the championship picture, nor does he have a top-level babyface with whom he can feud.
So is the time right for Orton to perhaps turn again and become the next man who attempts to take down The Authority? Whilst it may seem like a random idea at first, the idea does have legs behind it.
First of all, it would mean another installment of one of the top WWE rivalries of the last 10 years—Triple H vs. Randy Orton. The two have incredibly rich history dating all the way back to the mid-2000s.
Having Orton turn on his boss would have a huge impact on the company's future storylines and would seriously shake up the landscape of the WWE's main event scene. Triple H's involvement in the major storylines seems to have waned since Daniel Bryan's enforced departure, and a feud with Randy Orton would certainly be a great way to get him back involved without forcing the issue too much.
And as mentioned right at the start of this article, Orton has the charisma and talent to pull off the babyface role incredibly well. He can draw applause from a crowd better than most and is a talented enough worker to make WWE crowds appreciate him inside the ring.
With Bryan and Roman Reigns away from WWE TV for a significant period, there's an opening for someone to step up and go after The Authority again. Although many believe Dean Ambrose should occupy that role, his feud with Seth Rollins should be simply between those two, not Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Kane.
If the WWE is on the lookout for someone to take it to The Authority and beef up the WWE's card whilst so many stars are away, Randy Orton being turned may not be the most bizarre thing in the world.
