Giants' Rashad Jennings Records Franchise's 1st 34-Carry Performance Since 1999
New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings had a career-high 34 carries in Sunday's 30-17 win over the Houston Texans, becoming the first Giant since Joe Montgomery in 1999 to record 34 or more carries in a game, per ESPN Stats & Info.
Jennings, who had previously never topped 23 carries in a single contest, made the most of his 34 totes, tallying 176 rushing yards and a touchdown. The 176 yards also represent a career-best mark, topping the 150 he compiled in a game with the Oakland Raiders against the Texans last season.
Jennings' first season in New York got off to a slow start, as he was held to 46 yards on 16 carries in a Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions and then managed just 64 yards on 16 rushes in a Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
After breaking out in a big way Sunday afternoon, Jennings has further asserted himself as the clear top option out of the backfield, ahead of rookie running back Andre Williams, who has just 39 yards on 19 carries through three games.
Per Pro-Football-Reference.com's play index, there have been just nine games of 34 or more carries in Giants history, with four belonging to Rodney Hampton, the team's workhorse from 1991 to 1996. Butch Woolfolk owns the franchise record for most carries in one game, having run the ball 43 times for 159 yards during a 1983 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Though it's more effect than cause, the Giants have a 21-4-1 record in games in which one player recorded at least 30 carries, also per Pro-Football-Reference.com's play index.
