Falcons' Matt Ryan Sets Franchise Record for Single-Game Completion Percentage
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan completed 21 of his 24 pass attempts in Thursday's 56-14 rout of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to set a new franchise record for single-game completion percentage, per Jenna Laine of Fox Sports 1.
Ryan was dominant from the start, completing each of his four pass attempts for 54 yards and a touchdown on the first drive.
He was done for the day by the halfway mark of the third quarter, finishing with an 87.5 completion percentage.

No Falcon has ever completed a higher percentage of his passes in one game while attempting 20 or more throws. Scott Hunter did complete 10 of his 11 pass attempts in a 1976 game, posting a 90.9 completion percentage.
Accounting for the 20-attempt minimum, the previous record was held by Steve Bartkowski, who completed 24 of his 28 pass attempts (85.7 percent) in a 27-24 loss to the Detroit Lions during the 1984 season.
Of the nine performances in Falcons history featuring 20 or more attempts and a completion percentage of 80 or better, Ryan is unsurprisingly responsible for five.
Bartkowski recorded three of the other four, with Joey Harrington accounted for the fourth. Incredibly, the Falcons won just four of the nine games, including an 0-3 record in Bartkowski's 80 percent performances.
Ryan, meanwhile, has launched an all-out assault on the team record books this season. Back in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints, he broke the franchise record for career touchdown passes and also bested his own single-game team record with 448 passing yards.
