Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns Would Be a Great Feud in Dean Ambrose's Absence
As WWE.com notes, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are set to clash at the Night of Champions pay-per-view on September 21. The bout was instigated by Rollins' participation in The Authority's brutal attack on his former teammate in the main event of Monday's Raw.
Ideally, this program will last longer than just a few weeks because it makes for an intriguing storyline in Dean Ambrose's absence.
For one thing, it's some much-needed logical storytelling and continuity. Following Rollins' heel turn in early June—he memorably took out both of his friends with a steel chair on Raw then joined with Triple H and The Authority—Reigns' inexplicably forgot about his issues with him and moved on to the main event scene to try to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Did this really make sense? Why would Reigns dismiss his friend's betrayal so casually? Ambrose's seething and violent anger at Rollins over his actions only served to emphasize this glaring error.
It's nice to see the writers going at least some way to rectify the mistakes of the past.
Besides, Rollins and Reigns is a fresh feud, something the company could desperately use right now. And the sterling mic work of both men recently means that this program will likely deliver some good promos and interviews.
It will be nice to hear Reigns finally open up about his anger over Rollins’ betrayal. For his part, Rollins can continue to claim that he—not Ambrose or Reigns—was the real star of The Shield. He can say Reigns was a talentless big-man worker who rode on his coattails to main event stardom.

No doubt their match at Night of Champions will be tremendous, too, provided WWE management gives them enough time to churn out something great.
Are there any problems with a Reigns vs Rollins feud? Well, yes.
One of them must lose in this feud, which will damage the loser's credibility. Considering how fiercely protected Reigns has been in 2014, I assume it will be Rollins who loses and comes out of this angle looking somewhat weaker.
Considering he has his Money in the Bank title shot and a presumed run with the title coming up soon, is it really a good idea to have him lose cleanly? Probably not.
Regardless, I’d still say this Rollins vs. Reigns is the best and most intriguing feud to watch in WWE right now, and a rivalry that will likely aid in Reigns’ ascension to the top of the card.
