The State of TNA After Slammiversary

James JohnsonJun 28, 2009

Last week we had the Slammiversary Pay Per View and one has to wonder, what to make of all the Turns here. A Month or so ago, we had Mick Foley and Showtime Eric Young turn Heel while we had Beer Money Inc. as a somewhat Face.

Then we had the Team of Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed helping the Motor City Machine Guns attack Suicide. Then, at Slammiversary, we saw the turn that took place with Samoa Joe.

Let me be straight with each and everyone of you, I tend to lean toward the Heels, since I was a Heel in Texas back in the late 80s, but with all these guys turning Heel and Sting possibly turning Face after the events of this past Thursday, who else does TNA have as the Baby Faces on their Roster? Let us check this out.

Team 3D

A very Accomplished Tag Team that has won in every organization they've ever worked for; the Problem with this team is they tend to be too self-absorbed with their success, even though they had the 3D Invitational to give other teams the chance to succeed.

These guys have their itch to turn Heel and show their meanness to bring up a point. Who remembers last year when they wanted to wipe out the X Division?

Rhino

He is going to be busy trying to teach Eric Young some manners after Young walked out on him at Slammiversary.

Rhino needs to keep in mind that he is starting to get prone to injury. This man also has Heel tendencies and will show them if provoked.

AJ Styles

The mainstay of TNA, he has won every title that the Company has. With the title has come the arrogance and the ruthlessness that we are accustomed to.

Christopher Daniels

Has been fired more times than anyone in any profession and still has a job. Whether he is Curry Man or the Fallen Angel or Suicide—he was the second version after Kaz—he still maintains the staying power that is true to form.

With these guys and possibly Sting returning to the good graces of the fans, I still feel as if the TNA fans are being short-changed by the writing of Russo and whoever else is in on it.

Slammiversary was probably one of the lowest rated shows with bad story lines all over the place. It kind of reminds me of the WCW-NWO angle that was as old as the average age of the TNA roster.

I don't mind the fact that Samoa Joe duped the fans and AJ Styles, or that Eric Young is mad because he is the Jester.

I don't mind that Matt Morgan feels as if he is getting over-looked but, TNA, Jeff Jarrett, Vince Russo, where are the Faces with real staying power that I can make a good report for?

Styles, Daniels, Suicide, and 3D are there, but they can only do so much.

Tonight, we have The Bash and I hope to God that this Pay Per View has something worth paying $40 for. Until then, we will wait and see what happens at 11 EDT.
