10 Scorching MLB Takes 🌶️

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The Brewers continue their awful ways against the Twins yesterday afternoon dropping their fifth of six versus the Twins. Going back only two years to 2007, yes, we’re talking about the winning years here, the Milwaukee Brewers have now compiled a 6-12 record against the Twins. The only series they won in that span was when they won June 15th and June 16th, 2007.
Bernie’s Crew’s game summary says it all, “Bottom of Order Stays Cold.” Read the article. Ken Macha is going to have to start settling on a batting order or this is going to continue. Even if he settles on two, one for righties and one for lefties, it will still be better than a different one every day.
Prince Fielder was nearly struck by a Ryan Braun foul ball in the first inning Thursday afternoon. He took a good spill, but all the while staying out of the way, and managed to get back on his feet again unharmed. Read, watch here.
Later on in the game, Prince hit a home run that apparently he couldn’t see. When the Journal Sentinel’s Tom Haudricourt asked what pitch he hit for the home run in the sixth inning, Prince replied, “I don’t know. I didn’t see it.” Check out the scoop here.
Mitch Stetter made Major League headlines Thursday when his streak of consecutive batters retired via strikeout ended at 15. It eclipses the Brewers franchise record, previously held by former ace Ben Sheets, who retired 10 in a row last season. Read here.
As for Wednesday’s starter, Braden Looper should be alright to pitch his next start. At least that’s how the Brewers are planning it right now. We know thee things go though, so check back on this report. Read here for now.
Brewers owner Mark Attanasio made USA Today news when he was talking about trades possibilities for this season. He maintains that the Brewers could be buyers. He also states that they will not be sellers this year, so unless the Crew get an extraordinary deal, I would find it hard to believe if the Brewers trade Prince. I say sign him now. 5-6 years, $800 mil! Okay, I’m coming down from club insanity. Read USA Today!
The L.A. Times, in addition to Michael Jackson’s death, are also reporting that Ryan Braun purchased a foreclosed home in Malibu for $4.85 million. Not that it really has any impact, but it’s always nice to be able to drop $4.85 mil on a house. Check it out.
And in his notes for yesterday, Chuckie Hacks bluntly dropped a small nugget regarding his personal opinion on Brewers right fielder Corey Hart. Seems he’s not a fan at this time. Take a gander.
Fox 11 WLUK is reporting, among others, that Wisconsin Timber Rattlers second baseman Brett Lawrie has been named to the World roster for the XM Futures Game. Lawrie was the Brewers first round pick in 2008. Read up Crew.
Thanks to BrewCrewBall.com for pointing out this stat from the minors; Zach Braddock, one of the Crews left handed pitching prospects, hit a grand slam yesterday in his one and only plate appearance for the Hunstville Stars. Check out the box score if you don’t believe me! Way to go Zach!
Eighty Harley-Davidson motorcycle riders tout Milwaukee’s best sites, including Miller Park. As stated in the article, “Miller Park is the home of the Milwaukee Brewers and has the only fan-shaped retractable roof in North America.” Thanks TH Online.
