Brewers Get Help in Win
Kendall Comes through in the Eighth
The Brewers almost let a close game get away from them but got helped out when Jason Kendall turned a RBI double into the go ahead run off of an error by Twins pitcher Nick Blackburn. It was a two run eighth inning that led to the Trevor Hoffman save 10 minutes later. And just like that, the Brewers are back within a game of the division lead.

Blackburn pitched the complete game but was tagged with the loss after his error allowed the game winning run to score in the bottom of the eighth and it was only moments later that the bells began to ring.
Trevor Hoffman has not been seeing a lot of playing time lately, due to the fact the the Brewers are in a major slump. Tonight, however, he was back to his old self as he came in and closed down the game for his 17th save of the season.
Brendan Harris started things off for the Twins in the 1st when his sacrifice RBI put them up 1-0. Braden Looper helped his own cause though with a game tying RBI single in the 2nd.
After that, though, the scoring was down until the sixth inning when Jason Kubel took Looper yard. A few batters later, Joe Crede RBI doubled Cuddyer in to put the Twins up 3-1.
In the bottom of the sixth Kendall brought Cameron in cutting the lead to two before the Brewers were able to add two runs in the eighth to steal one at Miller Park.
Mitch Stetter struck out three in the seventh to increase his franchise record of consecutive outs as strikeouts to 14.
Todd Coffey came on in the eighth and went 1-2-3 to get the Brewers up to bat before Hoffman sealed the deal for Milwaukee.
Mike Burns (0-0) takes the mound in place of Dave Bush tomorrow facing off against Scott Baker (4-6) in the rubber game at 1:05 PM CT.
