If you’re just logging on this morning and are shocked to see the Brewers won, you’ve already missed the excitement. But have no fear, my little Brewer Buddy, for you too can still see the whole shebang right here!

Jason Kendall hit a double that appeared it would be a home run. The ball hit the wall however, staying in the park. J.J. Hardy scored from first and while the ball was thrown home and lost in error. It was recovered by pitcher Nick Blackburn who then threw to third to try to get Kendall out. The throw was high however and got by third baseman Joe Crede and also skipped past Jason Kubel in left field as Kendall trotted in to give the Brewers the go ahead run on the second error of the play.

Moments later Miller Park was lit up when the bells of Trevor Hoffman’s intro song, AC/DC’s Hell’s Bell’s, tolled. The Brewers fans could sense this one was all but in the books. And Hoffman made it official as Justin Morneau grounded out to give Trevor save no. 17 on the season. He is currently fifth in the NL.

You can find news reports all over the web for this game, but for the Twins, the Minneapolis Star Tribune’s headline made me smile the most. Check it out! The Houston Chronicle on the other hand calls it the game of the day!

Now on to this afternoon’s action. Mike Burns will get the ball for his first major league start. “I’m really excited,” Burns said of his first Major League start. “I’ve spent all my time [in the Majors] in the bullpen, so it’s going to be fun.” Burns will battle Twins’ Scott Baker (4-6). Check that out.

And the Giants are already looking for tomorrow nights awesome matchup of Matt Cain (9-1) versus Yovani Gallardo (7-4) at Miller Park. The Crew could sure use the win to turn around their sufferings. A few more wins in a a row and the Brewers could have what’s called a winning streak. Read their article.

And while we’re at at, we may as well jump into Saturday’s matchup, since the Brewers have announced their decision to pull Seth McClung from the bullpen and give him the start in Manny Parra’s rotation spot. He will do battle with former ace Barry Zito (4-7). Read more here.

Jesse at the Bleacher Report dives into the unsung stars in the Brewers bullpen. As we all should know, Trevor Hoffman has really been a huge staple in the ninth inning for the brewers, but “without the great play of Seth McClung, Todd Coffey, Mitch Stetter, and Mark DeFelice, the Brewers’ season would have a much different feel than it currently does.” Read here!

And I don’t know what to say about this next piece, but Right Field Bleachers have dug out an oldie but goodie. A Robin Yount flash from the past…or a flash of the past. Whatever you’ll have, check it out if you would like!

And I’ll close out today with a few promotions around the Crews minor league system. John Axford gets bumped to AAA Nashville, just one step away from Milwaukee. Congrats! See the rest!
