Why Brett Favre's Legacy Will Be Tainted
First and foremost, this is a response to Patrick Cwiklinski's article on Brett Favre's legacy. In this article, I will explain my reasons why I think Favre's legacy is tainted.
Favre coming out of retirement and going to play for the Minnesota Vikings is definitely going to ruin or at the very least taint his legacy, because this is different from Michael Jordan, who did un-retire a couple of times to play for the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards.
First off, Jordan never went to a DIVISION rival. That's right, a division rival. That's like Jordan going to the Milwaukee Bucks, who play in the NBA Central Division, where the Chicago Bulls are. And second of all, Jordan didn't even lead his new team to an NBA Championship. This leads me to my next point.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Favre is joining a Vikings team that is ready to contend for a Super Bowl or at the very least, the NFC championship. The pieces are there as evidenced by star running back Adrian Peterson, All-Pro guard Steve Hutchinson and All-Pro wide receiver Bernard Berrian. So, Favre is all set to go for the 2009 season.
In Packers' lore, there is a famous head coach named Curly Lambeau, who won six NFL Championships with the Packers. During the early 1950s, he fought with the Packers' board over the controversial purchase of Rockwood Lodge, which would lead to his departure in 1950. After leaving Green Bay, he continuously blocked Green Bay out of his mind and would never return to Green Bay after his fallout with the Packers.
Favre going to the Vikings would be a deathblow to his legacy he left behind in Green Bay, because back in 2008, he left with an unsettled situation in Green Bay and played for the Jets for the 2008-09 season.
The wounds are still there and still are cut open in Green Bay, and if Favre goes to the Vikings, the wounds he inflicted on the fans and the organization will never heal.
