Tell Tim Sylvia His Fifteen Minutes Are Over
On June 18, 2009, Tim Sylvia discussed his plans to appear on "Bully Beatdown."
Tim stated that when he was in school, "before he got big," he was frequently bullied.
Now he would enjoy getting some payback on those who once targeted him.
He assured his interviewers that he would donate any money from the show to a charity, since, "he does not need any more money."
Wow. Is Tim looking for a gig on TV, or trying to reel in a wife?
After his recent defeat at the hands of 48 year old Ray Mercer, Tim's deal with Affliction was cancelled. The organization believed that, "fighting again would not be in Tim's best interest."
To me, that sounded strangely reminiscent of what Dana White said about Chuck Liddell before informing the Iceman that he was officially retired.
Must be contagious.
Poor Tim, however, does not seem ready to step out of the spotlight quite this soon.
How he would love using Jason "Mayhem" Miller's new venue to settle some old grudges, and make a little money for charity.
Luckily for me, I have seen the show and found it to have very little redeeming value. Of course, this may be all that is left for Tim just now.
From what I have seen, Mayhem's show is meant to be a way for ordinary guys to put someone who has bullied them in the past in a cage against a real life MMA fighter.
The MMA fighter is almost guaranteed to win, and there are few surprises. Mostly, Mahem sits in the stands and yells insults at the bullies to taunt them as they are schooled by the MMA star inside a cage.
Abusing the contestants to pay them back for prior sins delights Miller and the audience, as well as the victims who are shown in a sympathetic light.
Personally, from what I have seen, the victims are pretty much wearing a subliminal "beat me" sign which attracts the "bullies."
I have wanted to beat up some of them too.
Rumors of stunt men being paid to play the part of the bullies have also been floating around. With the very low opinion I have of of Mayhem Miller, I do not doubt it at all.
Ever since the he inserted himself into the Greasegate scandle, claiming that "Georges was slippry" when they fought and thus won by cheating, I have disbelieved everything he says.
To say he is self-serving in the way he conducts himself would not state the case strongly enough, in my opinion.
Teaming up with Tim Sylvia may not be the stupidest thing he has done, but I am sure it is close to it.
Saying that Tim is as popular as a rabid skunk at the present may actually be a compliment in this case.
No organization wants Tim. Apparently he has been a flop on a dating TV show in the past, so I doubt that any reality series are beating down his doors. No movies have hired him yet; do you readers think they will?
I am hoping that Tim will suddenly realize that his fifteen minutes of fame are over, and willingly quit seeking to be in the spotlight.
There is a famous quote: "They also serve who stand and wait."
If only Tim would take the hint.
