Futbol Chronicles: Manchester City Will Upstage Manchester United!
Manchester City can now claim that they will be the dominant force of Manchester football.
This will surely upset United supporters, but City is on the verge of signing three power forwards: Carlos Tevez from Manchester United, Roque Santa Cruz from Blackburn, and now according to the latest reports, Samuel Eto from Barcelona.
If these signings are completed, than it will further enhance what has become an already incredible off season in European football.

Real Madrid made the first waves with the signings of Ronaldo and Kaka, respectively, now Manchester City is primed to steal Real's thunder with the possible signings of Samuel Eto, Tevez, and Santa Cruz to play alongside Robinho, Ireland, and Wright-Phillips.
The thought of the new trio plus Ireland, Phillips, and Robinho on the attack not only sounds scary, but it also must have United supporters deeply worried, and United manager Alex Ferguson pulling his own hair as he scrambles to build up United for the upcoming season.
It also would have Chelsea and Arsenal suddenly look over their backs and wonder how their fortunes might turn.
Arsenal Wenger recently said this month that he felt Manchester City were the most serious threat to Arsenal's European ambitions.
For Wenger to admit that a team not even competing in the UEFA Cup can be a future threat to Arsenal, only explains the breath of City's rise in scope in the Premiership.
Manchester City are now suddenly looking like the club everyone expects it to be...not only filthy rich, but filthy rich in football talent.
But the real question that will surely be on everyone's mind is whether City can finally eclipse the Red Devils' shadow and emerge as the club with the most gain for.
Does this spell the end of United's dominance and the beginning of City's new emergence as a force in football for years to come?
Well, the answer might be an absolute yes. Manchester United haven been mired in massive debt, Manchester City is the world's richest club, thanks in part to the wealth of its owners.
Which means City will have the financial muscle (far greater than that of the world's richest clubs) to compete with anyone for signings.
High wages, entertaining football, a loyal and thriving fan base, possible stadium expansion, not to mention Champions League football are just among the many delights in European football that City fans can look forward to.
Manchester also have impressive line of young players from their academies who could possibly break into the first team as well, as evidenced by the emergence of young talent such as Micah Richards and Evans.
Mark Hughes, a former Red Devil, knows he's in a position to build the team of his image, that he can turn things around at the Eastlands in ways managers could only dream about.
The current economic situation doesn't seem to bother Manchester City, but City fans would not care less since their team, compared to the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal, have the upper hand in spending and attracting talent.
All kidding aside, City's signing of Robinho last summer would surely pale in comparison to what's to come to the City of Manchester stadium in the next months.
Aston Villa? Tottenham Hotspur? Everton FC? No use mentioning those clubs when you have Manchester City right on the corner and in contention for Premiership and European supremacy.
We'll see how this new season folds up for Manchester, but more importantly, we'll see whether Alex Ferguson can still reclaim the mantle...even if Manchester City comrades can suddenly poach their way into Old Tradford and breath down United supporters' necks.
Let's wait and see.
