Lakers vs. Magic: NBA Finals Game Two Preview
The 2009 NBA Finals continue tonight when the Los Angeles Lakers face the Orlando Magic in Game Two.
The Lakers pretty much dominated the first game with Kobe Bryant scoring 40 points, dishing eight assists, and grabbing eight rebounds. Bryan made a loud statement that he and his team will not be denied this time.
Bryant’s dominance, however, was just one of many problems for the Magic. Orlando’s prized collection of three-point shooters cooled off in Game One, further adding to their woes.
Will it turn around in Game Two tonight against the Lakers?
If they want to make a comeback, Orlando must defend the pick-and-roll. Kobe and Pau Gasol just gutted them. The Magic's franchise player, Dwight Howard, should keep going. He only had only 12 points on 1-for-6 shooting in Game One.
If failing to establish “Superman” early in the game weren't bad enough, the Magic players seemed hesitant in many of their offensive sets. Was it a case of nerves? They held the ball for too long, allowing Lakers defenders to stay in good spots.
Orlando has to shake off their worries and play the kind of basketball they’ve been playing all year long.
Game Two starts at 8 p.m. ET.
