Original Text
Fresh off a suspension-turned-indefinite-leave, Andre Miller's days with the Denver Nuggets appear to be numbered.ย
According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nuggets have increased trade talks surrounding the veteran guard:
"Asย Denver Nuggetsย management accelerates trade discussions, guardย Andre Millerย has possibly played his final game for the franchise, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
After a two-game suspension turned into an indefinite exile on Monday, the Nuggets are motivated to move Miller within the next 24 to 48 hours, league sources said. It has become clear to rival executives that Denver is moving quickly on engineering trade scenarios and completing a deal.
"
The Sacramento Kings, a rebuilding squad under new management that hasn't been shy about working the trade market this season, are "at the forefront" of teams attempting to acquire the California native, per Wojnarowski.ย
Kings fans won't be thrilled about the idea of burgeoning young point guard Isaiah Thomas losing any minutes. But as Wojnarowksi states, the team is interested in Miller, who is averaging a career-low 19.0 minutes per contest, for a mentor role for "The Pizza Guy."
And if Sac-Town could land Miller in that particular role, Rotoworld's Aaron Bruski notes the potential importance:
In a report last week, Wojnarowski and Marc J. Spears revealedย that the Golden State Warriors are another team "intrigued with the possibility of acquiring" Miller.
Stephen Curry is in the midst ofย anotherย career year, but the Warriors, who lost Jarrett Jack in the offseason, could benefit from having a veteran backup point guard.ย
According to Frank Isola of theย New York Daily News, the New York Knicks, who have been riddled with injuries and inconsistency at the point-guard position, areย not in the running for Miller:
Per hoopshype.com, Miller is owed $5 million this season and will make $4.625 million in 2014-15. Combine that reasonable contract with his versatility at both guard positions and experienced playmaking ability, and it wouldn't be surprising to see a team jump at the chance to acquire the veteran very soon.ย
