List of 53-Man Roster Cuts
1 of 7Here is a list of the organizational cuts Seattle made to get down to 53 players, according to the team's official website:
- Phil Bates, WR
- Michael Brooks, DT
- Dewayne Cherrington, DT
- Arceto Clark, WR
- Darren Fells, TE
- Winston Guy, S
- Chris Harper, WR
- Cooper Heifet, TE
- Jaye Howard, DT
- Rishaw Johnson, OG
- Sean McGrath, TE
- Ron Parker, DB
- Ty Powell, LB
- Ryan Seymour, OG
- DeShawn Shead, DB
- Sealver Siliga, DT
- Jared Smith, OG
- Bryan Walters, WR
- Clinton McDonald, DT
- Michael Robinson, FB
- Brady Quinn, QB
- Antoine Winfield, CB
The two most shocking moves came at cornerback and fullback. Corner Antoine Winfield decided he was going to retire after the team handed him his walking papers, and lead-blocker Michael Robinson was let go after three years of service with the Seahawks.
Fourth round wide receiver Chris Harper was never able to get up to speed in Darrell Bevell's offense. This, in turn, resulted in him being released. Harper is the perfect practice squad candidate and should be given the opportunity to develop if he clears waivers.
After today's moves, the Hawks' only have two tight ends on the 53-man roster. Look for them to make a move before their Week 1 contest against the Carolina Panthers.

Starters and Injury Notes
5 of 7Seattle's starters have managed to stay relatively healthy during training camp. Wide receiver Percy Harvin will miss a majority of the season with a hip injury, but outside of his loss, the Seahawks are one of the healthiest teams in the NFL. Head coach Pete Carroll is hoping superstar defensive end Chris Clemons is ready to go Week 1.

List of 1st Round of Cuts
6 of 7The Seahawks have now made all the necessary moves to get down to 75 players. In all, they have put one player on injured reserve, one player on the non-football injury list, three players on the PUP list and released 10 others.
- Brett Swain, WR
- Kyle Knox, LB
- Craig Wilkins, LB
- Perez Ashford, WR
- Jameson Konz, TE
- Andrei Lintz, TE
- Martin Parker, DT
- Kyle Nelson, LS
- Donavon Kemp, WR
- Will Blackmon, CB
Will Blackmon wasn't a surprise cut, but he did perform well enough to warrant some roster consideration. Unfortunately for Blackmon, the Seahawks have too much depth at corner.
Injured Reserve
- Jesse Williams, DT
Defensive tackle Jesse Williams was put on injured reserve with a bum knee. He was selected in the fifth round of this year's draft and will fight for a roster spot in 2014.
Reserve/PUP List
- Percy Harvin, WR
- Greg Scruggs, DE
- Tharold Simon, CB
Wide receiver Percy Harvin, defensive end Greg Scruggs and cornerback Tharold Simon are eligible to return Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals.
Reserve/Non-Football Injury List
Korey Toomer, LB

Previewing 53-Man Roster Cuts
Here's a look at how the Seahawks may cut their roster down to 53 players.
- Brady Quinn, QB
- Spencer Ware, RB
- Derrick Coleman, FB
- Phil Bates, WR
- Bryan Walters, WR
- Arceto Clark, WR
- Cooper Helfet, TE
- Darren Fells, TE
- Jared Smith, C
- Rishaw Johnson, LG
- Ryan Seymour, RG
- Mike Person, RT
- Tony McDaniel, DT
- Michael Brooks, DT
- Dewayne Cherrington, DT
- Sealver Siliga, DT
- Michael Morgan, LB
- Ty Powell, LB
- John Lotulelei, LB
- Ron Parker, CB
- Winston Guy, S
- Deshawn Shead, S
Based on the fact the Seahawks have one of the deepest rosters in the NFL, they will have some very tough decisions to make on cut down day. Running back Spencer Ware is a guy Seattle would like to keep, but it would be hard to justify keeping five backs.
Head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider would have liked to see more out of defensive tackle Tony McDaniel, yet he rarely showed up when called upon during the preseason.
Safety Winston Guy is a player who has flashed in the past, but failed to consistently put it all together. Moreover, his suspension last year hurt his ability to gain valuable reps.
