Spain vs. Nigeria
The Spaniards made the Nigerians’ 6-1 win over Tahiti look weak. Fernando Torres and David Villa scored seven goals by themselves against Tahiti. Spain is the hottest team in the Federations Cup, and a loss to any club besides Brazil would be shocking.
Nnamdi Oduamadi catching fire is Nigeria’s best shot to pull off the upset. He recorded a hat trick against Tahiti but suffered an injury in a 2-1 loss to Uruguay and is doubtful to play on Sunday, according to Sports Radio BrilaFM.
Expect Spain to dominate as a result.
Prediction: Spain 3, Nigeria 1
Uruguay vs. Tahiti
If the Spaniards take care of business against Nigeria, all Uruguay must do to advance to the knockout stage is defeat lowly Tahiti. Tahiti has managed to score just one goal thus far in the Federations Cup. It has surrendered a whopping 16.
Tahiti beating Uruguay would be an even greater upset than an Oduamadi-less Nigeria edging Spain. And if Oduadmadi scored three goals against Tahiti and Torres finished with four, a hat trick is almost guaranteed for Luis Suarez. He was second in the English Premier League this season with 23 goals scored.
Expect Uruguay to advance to the semifinals of the FIFA tournament.
Prediction: Uruguay 6, Tahiti 1
