Teams to Watch for
Brazil
The first match of the tournament proved to everyone that the host team is still really good.
A dominating 3-0 victory will give the host team plenty of momentum heading into the remaining group play. They will have two interesting matches against Mexico and Italy to finish play.
Neymar continues to impress the world after his quick goal against Japan. All eyes will be on Neymar, as he prepares to head to Barcelona in the near future to play along with Lionel Messi.
The Brazilians will be looking to win their third straight Confederations Cup tournament. They won the previous two back in 2005 and 2009.
As the host country, Brazil will certainly have a home-field advantage for the rest of the tournament. Along with Spain, they are arguably one of the best teams in the field and the best team in Group A.
Things will certainly get interesting in later matches, as the crowd is certain to be electric.
Italy
Although Italy is one of the more talented teams heading into the tournament, they haven't exactly been impressing recently.
A 2-2 draw against Haiti and a scoreless draw against the Czech Republic have been very disappointing for Italy. With names like Mario Balotelli and Andrea Pirlo on this team, you would expect more from them.
Now, Italy will be looking to turn it around in Brazil. They have plenty of talent with some strong forwards that excel at creating scoring chances, and they will be looking for as many scoring opportunities as possible in order to try and make it out of the Group Stage.
Spain
Brazil may have the home-field advantage, but Spain may very well be the best team in this tournament.
The No. 1-ranked team in the world has plenty of firepower. With David Villa, Xavi and Juan Mata, this team is easily the best of field in Group B, and quite possibly, the best overall.
If Spain wins this tournament, no one will really be surprised. The real question is can they dominate the competition in Group B?
We will find out soon enough.
