US Open 2013 Tee Times: A Look Ahead to Day 1 Start Times and Coverage Info
As they say, you cannot win a golf tournament on the first day, but you can certainly lose one. That is going to be especially true as these golfers attack Merion Golf Club for the 113th U.S. Open.
While heavy rains have softened up this course to make it a little easier, there are still tight holes, treacherous rough and little room for error. This is going to limit scoring chances and make a big number on any hole a distinct possibility.
Every round will be of vital importance. Luckily, there is a plethora of ways to catch the action and that all starts with Thursday's first round.
Check out everything you need to know to view Thursday's action, and then, I'll break down three of the more notable groups.

Round 1 Groups to Watch
Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott
As you've probably heard, the world's top three players are grouped together for the first two rounds of the U.S. Open, and this group is likely to provide some fireworks.
No, I don't mean between Tiger Woods and his former caddie Stevie Williams. I imagine there won't be a word uttered between the two.
These fireworks are going to come from the play of the group. At least one of these guys will go low Thursday. However, none of these major winners are synonymous with driving accuracy, and that is going to be huge at Merion.
Whatever happens with this group, it is going to be fascinating to watch.
Matt Kuchar, Justin Rose, Brandt Snedeker
This is another stacked group. In the world rankings, Matt Kuchar is fourth, Justin Rose is fifth and Brandt Snedeker is seventh. All of these guys are looking for their first major.
Kuchar is currently the hottest player on the planet. He is coming off of a win at the Memorial, and he was the runner-up at the Crowne Plaza Invitational. He also won the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship.
Rose has four top-10 finishes in his eight PGA starts this year. He has the game off the tee to dominate Merion, but his putting is a definite concern.
Then, there is Snedeker, whose straight play off the tee and excellent putting bodes well at Merion, but he has been inconsistent since returning from a rib injury. He also hasn't proven he can hold it together while in contention on Sunday at a major.
These guys are hungry and talented. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see the winner come out of this group.
Phil Mickelson, Steve Stricker, Keegan Bradley
At 42, Phil Mickelson is rapidly running out of chances to win his first U.S. Open. He's been runner-up here three times, but he hasn't been able to get over the hump.
He also isn't likely to have another shot as good as this one. Besides his advancing age being a reason, Mickelson should benefit this year from the rain-softened fairways helping with his driving accuracy.
Also, he's in good form. He was second last weekend at the St. Jude Classic, and he was third at the Wells Fargo.
However, he did have a missed cut at the Players in between those two. Of course, this group isn't all about Mickelson.
Love him or hate him, Keegan Bradley is one of the most interesting players on tour, and Steve Stricker has three top-10 finishes in his six PGA events with not a single start resulting in a finish worse than 38th.
All three of these guys are capable of going low Thursday.
