Masters 2013 Leaderboard: Where Tiger Woods and Golf's Top Stars Stand on Day 3
It is moving day, and Jason Day has a one-stroke lead over Fred Couples and Marc Leishman. Meanwhile, Tiger Woods was close to being disqualified after taking an illegal drop. However, the officials decided to give him a two-stroke penalty instead.
Jason Dufner
The American shot three under par and is just three strokes away from the leader. Dufner is making his third appearance in the Masters and is no stranger to this position. Last year, he shared the lead in the second round with Fred Couples.
Adam Scott
The Australian could not go as low as in the opening round and left the course tied for seventh. Scott found himself in trouble at holes three through five, as he bogeyed them all. The recovery was slow. He birdied seven and parred six consecutive holes before going low again at 14. He finished his round with another birdie and went even for the day.
Rory McIlroy
Despite his inconsistencies, the 23-year-old is tied for 13th at two under. Rory opened with two bogeys on his first three holes. He went back to even at No. 8, where he sank an eagle putt due to a fantastic approach shot that landed feet from the cup.
Tiger Woods
After taking the two-stroke penalty, Tiger is tied for 19th at one under par. Woods had a strong front nine and managed to score birdies at holes five, seven and eight. After eight consecutive pars, he had trouble on 15 as his ball hit the flagstick and rolled into the water hazard. He took a drop, for which he was later penalized, and sank his bogey putt.
Lefty flirted with the cut line after a dreadful four-over-par round. He is currently tied for 49th at three over overall. Mickelson birdied holes three, eight and thirteen but bogeyed four, nine, 10, 14 and 15 and double bogeyed 12.
