Ranking Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone's UFC Wins

Anthony FuscoJun 6, 2018

Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone has been on a tear since his UFC debut in February of 2011.

He has defeated six of his seven UFC opponents, and four of those wins were stoppages.

Cerrone, a former WEC fighter, has come into his own since reaching the UFC and is now primed to face another WEC veteran in his next bout.

Cerrone will throw down with Anthony Pettis to determine who is the top contender in the UFC's lightweight division.

Let's take a look and rank Cerrone's six UFC victories thus far.

6. Cerrone vs. Kelly

1 of 6

Cerrone made his UFC debut with a submission win over Paul Kelly.

Cerrone was able to use his takedowns and positioning effectively in the first round to land some short elbows, and he ended the round in a dominant position.

The second round came, and Cerrone began working his low kicks. He then shot for a takedown and ended up in mount.

Kelly tried to escape as Cerrone took his back and applied a body triangle. Cerrone eventually threw his hands around Kelly's neck, and Kelly tapped shortly after.

It was Cerrone's first UFC win, and it earned him Fight of the Night honours as well.

5. Cerrone vs. Rocha

2 of 6

Cerrone's second fight was supposed to be against Mac Danzig. Instead, Danzig got hurt and was replaced with newcomer Vagner Rocha.

Cerrone used his high-level Muay Thai to punish Rocha's legs with blistering kicks. It was technical mastery of Muay Thai at its finest.

Cerrone took home a unanimous decision for his incredibly technical victory. He looked a class above Rocha the entire fight and began to put the lightweight ranks on notice.

4. Cerrone vs. Stephens

3 of 6

Cerrone came into this fight and put on a Muay Thai clinic.

After his only UFC loss to date against Nate Diaz, Cerrone came into this bout focused and ready to win.

He did just that by battering Stephens for three rounds. He used his long reach and roughed up Stephens with punches and knees.

He also worked his kicks extremely well, and in the third round, he succeeded in knocking Stephens down a few times.

This fight showed that a focused Cerrone is a deadly Cerrone.

3. Cerrone vs. Oliveira

4 of 6

Cerrone didn't waste much time in this fight, as he dropped Charles Oliveira with nasty hook to the body.

Cerrone saw that Oliveira was hurt and immediately swarmed him.

He threw a multitude of fast and powerful punches the sides of Oliveria's head until he was forced to stop due to the intervention of the referee.

Cerrone looked fantastic in this fight, and this finish earned him a nice Knockout of the Night bonus.

2. Cerrone vs. Siver

5 of 6

Another fantastic performance put on by Cerrone had his opponent tapping in the middle of the first round.

Cerrone started off the round well by tagging Dennis Siver with a low kick, then quickly firing it off again and catching him flush on the forehead.

He then defended a Siver takedown attempt and was able to transition to the back of his still-rocked opponent and lock in the fight-ending choke.

It was a beautiful display of technique, especially with the two kicks early on.

Cerrone also picked up a Submission of the Night bonus after this fight.

1. Cerrone vs. Guillard

6 of 6

Despite the fight lasting a little over a minute, it was one of Cerrone's best performances to date.

It showed that he could perform through adversity and be creative enough to find a way to win.

Melvin Guillard caught Cerrone with a nice counter left that had him rocked. Guillard jumped all over him with knees, punches and elbows, but Cerrone was able to survive it all.

Then the unthinkable happened. Cerrone threw up a head kick that stunned Guillard. Seeing his opponent on wobbly knees, Cerrone rushed in and hit him with a hard right hand that put Guillard to sleep.

Cerrone took home a Fight of the Night and a Knockout of the Night bonus for his incredible comeback win.
