Tennessee Titans 2012: Which Rookies Will Make Immediate Impacts in 2012-13?

Benjamin MottAug 13, 2012

Seven draft picks and many more undrafted free agents could possibly make up the Tennessee Titans rookie class this season. Many of the undrafted, and maybe even some of the drafted, will fall victim to preseason cuts, as is the usual procedure in the NFL.

Here are the five who will make the biggest impact for the team.

Kendall Wright, WR

1 of 5

Wright already made his presence felt in Saturday's preseason game against the Seahawks, catching three passes for 47 yards. With Kenny Britt's status with the Titans being uncertain physically or even related to his expected discipline from the NFL, Wright will have a big role in the offense this season.

He has blazing speed, and more than likely will play the slot this season behind Nate Washington and Damian Williams. With the Titans starting to move towards a more pass-oriented offense, look for Wright to get plenty of chances to catch the football.

Zach Brown, LB

2 of 5

The Titans' second-round pick out of North Carolina, Brown had a solid performance against the Seahawks, getting four tackles, including one for a loss.

Brown is widely considered the fastest outside linebacker in the draft and is likely to take Will Witherspoon's starting job on the weak side. Brown is way too talented not to see the field this season.

Mike Martin, DL

3 of 5

Martin was a war machine at the University of Michigan and looks to do the same for the Titans. He is a blue-collar worker with a motor that never stops running.

He could see time both at tackle and end, especially with the Titans lack of depth at end, but he will definitely make an impact both against the run and the pass.

Taylor Thompson, TE

4 of 5

A college defensive end, Thompson is pretty raw at the tight end position, but he has good size. He must work on ball security after losing a fumble in the Seattle game.

He may not get too many looks with Jared Cook and Craig Stevens ahead of him, but he could be a solid target in the red zone and in blocking situations if he continues to progress positively.

Collin Mooney, FB

5 of 5

The West Point graduate spent three years in the Army prior to being signed in May. Mooney will compete with Quinn Johnson for the starting fullback position with Ahmard Hall gone.

The Titans seem to be slowly moving to a one-back offense, but they still could end up utilizing a fullback on running downs.
