EPL: Manchester United Happy with Darren Fletcher
Manchester United struggled past Lyon in the UEFA Champions League this week. But there was one man in their starting 11, who fought harder than others.
He is of course, Scotland international, Darren Fletcher. The young Scot has endured a difficult campaign after some high profile signings (Anderson, Hargreaves, and Nani) arrived in the summer.
This has meant much less game time for the midfielder, but to his credit the lad has taken it on the chin.

Incredibly, he was missing from the matchday 16, for a couple of months before his great performance against Arsenal (4-0) in the FA Cup. I feel this proves his resolve and professionalism as well as his determination to help his beloved Manchester United, even if it means being the one to sit out.
Fletcher has not once complained about his situation and continues to turn in good performances when called upon to do so. One must remember it's not Reading or Derby County he is getting the nod for, but against Arsenal and Lyon in important encounters.
Sir Alex Ferguson has lavished praise on his young midfielder after their win over Lyon, even ahead of match winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Darren has shown he is a true professional. He is a terrific example of a professional to any young player. I keep talking about Bobby Charlton's book, and his frustration when he was not in the team at 19 and had to be patient. Darren Fletcher epitomizes that patience and now he's back in the squad and everyone recognizes his abilities. It's a great credit to the lad." Ferguson told Sky Sports News.
Manchester United are not the only ones benefiting from Fletchers ability and professionalism. He has been capped 34 times for Scotland, scoring four goals. He's also captained his country in what was one of his proudest footballing moments.
He has over 100 first team games for United under his belt, as well as an EPL title medal and an FA Cup winner’s medal. He has also starred in the UEFA Champions League, most notably against Roma last year and is proving to be one of Sir Alex's most loyal servants.
He deserves his place in the United squad and has a lot to offer his side. I for one think Darren is pushing for more first team action, judging on recent performances.
There's only one Darren Fletcher!
