NBA Playoffs Schedule: San Antonio Spurs Won't Lose 4 Games to Any Team
When the NBA playoff schedule came out I knew the San Antonio Spurs would be tough to beat, but the way they're playing right now I don't see any team possessing the talent and teamwork to beat them four games out of seven.
The Spurs aren't going to let up anytime soon either, and they will continue to make quick work of the Clippers while they wait for the Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder to duke it out in the other Western Conference series.
There is still one game to be won in their current series, but there isn't a chance the Clippers will somehow come back to take this series from them.
Heck, they gave them their best shot at the beginning of Game 3, going up by as many as 24 points. That wasn't enough to garner them a victory, though, and the Spurs ended up winning by 10 points due to a ferocious third quarter in which they outscored the Clippers 26-8.
The Clippers don't have a single player on their roster at any position better than who the Spurs put out on the floor every night. Every battle is being won by the Spurs, and the scoreboard has reflected the disparity.
As good as Chris Paul is, Tony Parker is better. As good as Blake Griffin is in the post, he has nothing on a certain someone named Tim Duncan. As good as Caron Butler has been for the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard has been better.
The Spurs have an extremely deep bench to go along with their exceptional group of starters, too—something the other teams don't have.
The Clippers don't have a chance to win this series. The Spurs are playing the best basketball of any team in the NBA and, to be honest, I haven't seen a team play as well as they are playing in some years now.
They don't have any weaknesses. Duncan is fresh and healthy, dominating the paint as if he were 25 years old again. The Spurs look like they won't be stopped by anyone this year.
Assuming they do finish off the Clippers, their toughest opponent will be either the Lakers or the Thunder. If they win the Western Conference finals, I don't see any team from the East having a chance to defeat them in the NBA Finals.
They are the least selfish, most team-oriented squad left in the playoffs. The way they are balling right now reminds me of their championship teams of a decade ago.
At this rate, it's tough to see any team defeating them in a seven-game series unless they lose Duncan or Parker to injury, God forbid. They have the most complete team in the league, and they have proven over the course of the year and into the playoffs that they can win any type of game.
2012 is the year of the Spurs, and there's nothing anybody can do to stop it.
