WWE Over the Limit 2012: Predictions for Every Main-Event Match
Even though the Over the Limit build will continue tonight on Raw, the three biggest matches have already been announced. The pay-per-view will see the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships defended, along with one of the most interesting matchups in a long time.
Let's take a look at each of the marquee matches on the card and make predictions for how each of them will turn out. With Brock Lesnar seemingly out of the picture for now, it will be intriguing to see how Sunday's PPV compares to the last two.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
CM Punk's reign has been one of the most impressive in recent history. A lot of that has to do with decreased expectations because of all the quick title changes recently, but it's also a testament to his ability to carry the company on his back.
It seemed weird for Daniel Bryan to inexplicably switch brands to get placed in this match. Most likely, it's an attempt by the company to give the fans what they want until an opening arises for Bryan, who continues to get massive fan support.
After all that Punk has accomplished in recent months, it wouldn't make any sense for him to drop the title at a second-tier PPV. He should hold it until at least SummerSlam. That said, this should be the most entertaining match of the night.
Prediction: CM Punk
Sheamus vs. Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho vs. Alberto Del Rio
Sheamus has received a monster push this year, with key wins at Royal Rumble, WrestleMania and most recently, Extreme Rules. It's hard to imagine the creative team abandoning that much momentum so quickly.
Surprisingly, the biggest contender to emerge has been Orton. Even though they are both operating as faces, their storyline in recent weeks has actually been pretty entertaining. If anybody were to beat Sheamus while he's riding high, it would be "The Viper," but even that seems highly unlikely.
Chris Jericho brings a little prestige to the match—even though he's been racking up the losses lately—while Del Rio continues to get treated like an elite superstar despite his lack of crowd reaction. They add a little more upside to the match as a whole, but Sheamus should still come out on top.
Prediction: Sheamus
John Cena vs. John Laurinaitis
At first, this match seemed like a slam dunk for Cena since he was just coming off a huge victory over Brock Lesnar. As time has gone on, however, it's starting to look more like Laurinaitis and his band of goons will win.
Laurinaitis figures to get help from Lord Tensai, David Otunga and others—possibly even Lesnar—which will make Cena look really strong, even if he does lose. He talked about taking some time off after the last PPV, so this may serve as a way to write him out of television for awhile.
One of the main reasons Cena gets a negative reaction from most diehard fans is his ability to always overcome the odds. "Super Cena" will have to show up again on Sunday to pull out the win, but I expect Laurinaitis and Co. to eventually take him out.
Prediction: John Laurinaitis
