College Football Recruiting 2013: The Top Commit at Each Offensive Position
We're starting to see the trend in recruiting go from waiting all the way until National Signing Day to committing early. So for this read, we're just going to run down the top committed recruit at each offensive position.
Let's get started.
OG: Patrick Kugler
1 of 7Commitment: Michigan
Kugler is a 6'4", 275-pound OL from Pennsylvania that likely will be an OG in Ann Arbor. He plays with excellent technique, strength and quickness and is a dominant run blocker.
Look for him to be a starter early in his career.
OT: Jake Raulerson
2 of 7Commitment: Texas
Raulerson is the top committed OT prospect, but I think this guy can play an array of other positions. He's a 6'5", 250-pounds Texan.
Raulerson has great feet, agility and bend. He also plays physical and nasty. He can play all five spots on the front and will be great in Austin.
TE: Adam Breneman
3 of 7Commitment: Penn State
Breneman is the nation's best pure TE prospect and hails from the Keystone State. A 6'5", 225-pound WR, Breneman will kick inside to becoming a seam player for the Nittany Lions.
He'll be a joker-type where he will be used as an in-line, flex, slot, wide receiver and even H-Back by Bill O'Brien.
FB: Wyatt Shallman
4 of 7Commitment: Michigan
Shallman can play linebacker, but the 6'3", 245-pounder likely will be a classic lead blocker for Big Blue. Shallman is physical at the point of attack, plays big and has good strength to clear dig out holes for running backs.
He has the temperament, willingness and work ethic to become a fan favorite at the Big House.
RB: Thomas Tyner
5 of 7Commitment: Oregon
Tyner is a 6'0", 207-pound back from Oregon that is the fastest offensive player in the nation. This guy can flat out fly, and it can overwhelm defenses because he also has good size.
He has injury concerns, but if he can stay healthy, Tyner could become a household name. Speed, elusiveness and quickness are the main traits of his game.
WR: Ricky Seals-Jones
6 of 7Commitment: Texas
Seals-Jones doesn't play WR right now for his high school team in Sealy, Tex., but he will at Texas. He's 6'5" and just about 220 pounds right now with incredible athleticism.
Seals-Jones has good speed, length and leaping ability. He can also make plays after the catch. Don't be shocked if he becomes a TE down the line either.
QB: Max Browne
7 of 7Commitment: USC
Browne is a 6'5", 210-pound QB from the Seattle area that has excellent mechanics, quick release and good arm strength. Browne sees the field well, makes good decisions and gets the football to his target quickly and accurately with velocity.
He's on track to enroll early at USC.
