2012 NFL Mock Draft: Updated Picks for Every Second-Round Team
The first round of the 2012 NFL draft may be in the books, but the offseason's biggest spectacle is far from over as things will continue with the second and third rounds tonight. There is still plenty of top-flight talent available, and there are likely several players on the board who will become All-Pros, so drafting well is still of the utmost importance.
It isn't unfair to say the early portion of the second round is almost like an extension of the first round as many teams have late-first- and early-second-round picks rated quite similarly on their draft boards. Talent slips through the cracks every single year in the first round, so there is no telling how many big names will go off the board in this year's second round when we look back down the line.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Here is a full, second-round mock draft complete with picks for every team in the opening round of the draft's second day.
33. St. Louis Rams: Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford
The Rams need a left tackle to protect Sam Bradford and block for Steven Jackson.
34. Indianapolis Colts: Coby Fleener, TE, Stanford
Not many thought that Stanford tight end Coby Fleener would last until the second round, but no tight ends were taken in the first, so he winds up in the Indianapolis Colts' lap. The pick makes sense on several levels as they released both Dallas Clark and Jacob Tamme this offseason, so the Colts have absolutely nothing to work with at the position.
Perhaps more importantly, though, the Colts took Fleener's college quarterback No. 1 overall in Andrew Luck, so there will be an immediate rapport. The first season is likely to be a rough one for Luck as he won't have much time to throw or many options, so Indy needs to afford him with a familiar face who can serve as a security blanket.
35. Baltimore Ravens (via MIN): Courtney Upshaw, OLB, Alabama
Baltimore will be happy to get a rush linebacker with first-round talent.
36. Denver Broncos (via TB): Cordy Glenn, OT/OG, Georgia
The most important thing for Denver is keeping Peyton Manning upright.
37. Cleveland Browns: Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech
Cleveland got a new running back and quarterback in the first and will take a receiver here.
38. Jacksonville Jaguars: Vinny Curry, DE, Marshall
The Jaguars need a complementary pass-rusher for Jeremy Mincey.
39. St. Louis Rams: Rueben Randle, WR, LSU
Sam Bradford simply can't succeed without a quality target.
40. Carolina Panthers: Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State
Carolina finally addresses defensive tackle after neglecting it for years.
41. Buffalo Bills: Lavonte David, OLB, Nebraska
The Bills continue to build a formidable defense to compete with the Patriots.
42. Miami Dolphins: Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina
Once considered a high first-rounder, the Dolphins won't hesitate to take Jeffery.
43. Seattle Seahawks: Mychal Kendricks, LB, California
The Seahawks need a tackling machine and Kendricks fits the bill.
44. Kansas City Chiefs: Amini Silatolu, OT/OG, Midwestern State
Kansas City will fortify its offensive line with a versatile option in Silatolu.
45. St. Louis Rams (via DAL): Zach Brown, OLB, North Carolina
The Rams fill yet another need with their third second-rounder.
46. Philadelphia Eagles: Bobby Wagner, LB, Utah State
Wagner should lend some legitimacy to Philly's weak linebacker corps.
47. New York Jets: Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State
The Jets will take a chance on the talented Adams despite his character concerns.
48. New England Patriots: Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama
If not for a marijuana arrest that caused him to be dismissed from the University of Florida, cornerback Janoris Jenkins may have been an early first-rounder. Jenkins ended up at tiny North Alabama and played against inferior competition, though, so his stock has taken a hit. That works right into the hands of the New England Patriots.
The Pats addressed their thin linebacker corps in the first round and will probably try to strengthen the secondary with this pick. New England was one of the worst teams in the league last season when it came to defending the pass, but Jenkins is skilled enough to contribute right away and to perhaps become a quality starter in due time.
49. San Diego Chargers: Bobby Massie, OT, Ole Miss
The Chargers will address the offensive line after a ton of turnover this offseason.
50. Chicago Bears: Jeff Allen, OT, Illinois
If the Bears can't keep Jay Cutler healthy, they don't stand a chance.
51. Philadelphia Eagles: Trumaine Johnson, CB, Montana
Johnson can play corner or safety, so he should be a valuable piece for the Eagles.
52. Tennessee Titans: Devon Still, DT, Penn State
The Titans lost Jason Jones this offseason but will be pumped to replace him with Still.
53. Cincinnati Bengals: Brian Quick, WR, Appalachian State
Andy Dalton will continue to grow with another target across from A.J. Green.
54. Detroit Lions: Jayron Hosley, CB, Virginia Tech
Detroit simply can't come away from this draft without improving the secondary.
55. Atlanta Falcons: Kelechi Osemele, OT/OG, Iowa State
The Falcons need a youth infusion on an aging offensive line.
56. Pittsburgh Steelers: Alameda Ta'amu, NT, Washington
Casey Hampton is on his last legs and will need to be phased out soon.
57. Denver Broncos: Brandon Thompson, DT, Clemson
Thompson should open things up for Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil.
58. Houston Texans: Zebrie Sanders, OT, Florida State
Houston lost several starters along the offensive line, making this pick a necessity.
59. Green Bay Packers: Kendall Reyes, DL, Connecticut
After getting a pass-rusher in the first, the Packers take a space-eater in the second.
60. Baltimore Ravens: Peter Konz, C, Wisconsin
As the consensus top center in the draft, most considered Wisconsin's Peter Konz to be a late first-rounder. Due to a lack of need, however, he drops to the Baltimore Ravens all the way at the end of the second. He may not play right away since veteran Matt Birk is back for another season, but he can learn a lot from Birk this year and be ready to play next year.
Failing that, Baltimore could even attempt to convert him to guard. It isn't Konz's natural position, but the Ravens have a bit of a need there, so it makes sense. Konz is a major talent who should be gone by this point in the second round, so the Ravens ought to just take him and ask questions later if he is still on the board.
61. San Francisco 49ers: Mitchell Schwartz, OT, California
The 49ers have a weakness on the right side that Schwartz should strengthen.
62. New England Patriots: Jared Crick, DL, Nebraska
The defensive overhaul continues with a versatile lineman in Crick.
63. New York Giants: Dwayne Allen, TE, Clemson
Allen should play right away with Jake Ballard and Travis Beckum on the shelf.
