Red Sox Avoid Being Swept by Yankees, Saved by the Rain
The New York Yankees were on their way to a sweep of the Boston Red Sox this weekend. Boston received a lucky break with a rainstorm that blew through northern New England, postponing the game.
In Game 1 of what was supposed to be a three-game series, the Yankees beat the Red Sox 6-2 at Fenway Park on the 100-year celebration of Fenway. Boston fans were devastated by the loss on such an historic day.
The second game was quite a tease for Boston. The Red Sox had a 9-0 lead over the Yankees and appeared to be going strong. Of course, we Yankees fans know what happened later in the game. The Yankees came back with a vengeance, destroying that 9-0 lead and winning 15-9.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Nothing soothes the soul of a Yankees fan better than beating the Red Sox at their beautiful home field, Fenway Park. The only thing better than a win at Fenway is a sweep of the series. The Yankees had the Red Sox locked on target.
With two huge wins at Fenway, the psychological factor would have been a great benefit to New York. Yes, baseball players are professionals, but they are also human. Boston had been beaten down emotionally, and the opportunity was there for New York to take advantage.
The Yankees were excited, motivated and fired up for the third game. After two huge consecutive wins in Boston, New York's confidence would have been unbeatable.
The Red Sox narrowly escaped what would have been a devastating sweep on their home field. Yes, that's right, I said that the Yankees would have won. I believe in my team.
Being swept at home hurts enough, but it would have been far worse on such an historic weekend at Fenway.
The third game will eventually be rescheduled and made up, but even if the Yankees win, it won't feel the same as a sweep. I guess I shouldn't complain, though. A win is a win.
