Bulls Rumors: Dwight Howard Should Add Chicago to His Wish List
Here's a very simple question: If you were an elite center in the NBA, why wouldn't you want to play with one of the best point guards in the NBA?
I'm asking Dwight Howard why he wouldn't want to play with Derrick Rose, just in case that wasn't clear.
Apparently, the Chicago Bulls have serious interest in Howard but haven't officially made his "wish list," as ESPN's Marc Stein wrote last Friday:
"If you wondering why we've included them here, when they're still not on Howard's Nets-Mavs-Lakers wish list, it's because Chicago keeps quietly making its interest known, romanticized by the prospect of pairing Dwight with Team USA teammate Derrick Rose.
"
He added:
"The Bulls, I'm told, are stunned (and somewhat miffed) that Howard doesn't have them on his wish list, struggling to believe he's not angling to hook up with D-Rose in a true (if frigid) NBA metropolis. And interesting won't begin to describe the situation if these teams do start talking seriously, with Orlando sure to want Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson and Chicago more likely to try to sell the Magic on the likes of Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer and Omer Asik.
"
I'd be stunned if I were Chicago as well. They really would be a perfect and amazing pair. They would instantly strike fear in the hearts of Miami Heat fans everywhere.
They would be the best center-guard combination since Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal argued their way to three straight titles with the Los Angeles Lakers.
From a pure basketball standpoint, it makes the most sense for Howard. The Bulls have enough trade chips and a deep enough roster that they could still surround the pair with a very nice supporting cast.
If, of course, this is primarily a basketball decision and not about making business deals with Mark Cuban in Dallas, making moves with Jay-Z in Brooklyn or making movies in Los Angeles.
Because in Chicago, none of the above is happening. But championships probably would be in his future.
Decisions, decisions.
