Giants vs. Patriots Predictions: Picking the First Half Against the Spread
Everyone knows the New England Patriots are a three-point favorite over the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI, and that it is a risky wager.

New England Patriots (-1, -125) over New York Giants
The Patriots are one-point favorites to take a lead into the locker room after the first half, but it's going to cost you some extra juice.
That means that either Vegas isn't comfortable with that number, or the public is betting New England extremely heavy on the -1 line.
Whatever the case is, it's worth it to take that vigorous hit and guarantee yourself some money.
The Pats are most likely going to kick if they win the coin toss, and the Giants are most likely going to receive if they do, which contributes to the small spread, but certainly does not mean the Giants will win the half.
Here’s why:
New England’s Offense
This offense isn’t as explosive as they were in the 2008 Super Bowl, but the way they play will negate the strengths of the Giants' defense.
Tom Brady moves the team down the field with fast throws designed to move the chains and the system often times will eat the clock.
It also allows for the QB to get the ball out quickly rather than waiting for things to develop downfield and letting the pass-rush become a major hindrance.
Coaching
Bill Belichick knows that taking a lead into the half is going to be huge for momentum and for the team to build upon their lead when they receive to start the third quarter.
He'll pull out all the stops early and use his best plays to exploit the chinks in Big Blue's armor that he has found during the two weeks he's been preparing.
Defense
No one is giving any credit to the New England defense, but they certainly should.
This group has stepped up in the playoffs and looks like a well-oiled machine that's playing with an edge they failed to display during the regular season.
If the Pats' secondary can get an interception or two and their front four can put pressure on Eli Manning, it's going to quickly turn into a New England blowout.
