Super Bowl Predictions 2012: Tom Brady Will Bounce Back from Poor AFC Title Game

Austin GreenJun 7, 2018

Tom Brady struggled in the AFC championship game, but don't expect his poor play to carry over to Super Bowl 46.

Brady minced no words after his performance against Baltimore, when he threw two interceptions and failed to have a touchdown pass for the first time in 36 games. "Well, I sucked pretty bad today," Brady said immediately afterwards.

Yes, Tom. Yes you did.

However, if you think Brady's going to have two bad games in a row, you're crazy.

While Aaron Rodgers and Tim Tebow were getting all the headlines, Brady quietly added another spectacular season to his resume. He ranked in the top four in the league in passing yards (5,235), touchdowns (39) and completion percentage (65.6).

He threw for at least 300 yards in all but five regular season games, and he had three or more touchdown passes on seven occasions.

He raised the bar even higher in the Patriots first playoff game, casually dropping 363 and six touchdowns on the overwhelmed Denver Broncos. Of course, he came down to earth the following weekend against the Ravens vicious D.

He'll have his work cut out for him tonight against the Giants, who resemble the Ravens with their relentless pass rush. However, I'm expecting Brady to return to his pre-Baltimore form.

Even with Rob Gronkowski ailing, Brady has a massive arsenal of weapons. Wes Welker, Deion Branch and Aaron Hernandez are all capable of exploiting a secondary that ranked 29th in pass defense.

It's no secret that Brady is insanely competitive, and with so many historical implications on the line, I'm expecting the legendary quarterback to be at his best.

He will out-duel Eli Manning tonight to win his fourth Super Bowl in 11 years.
