Super Bowl 2012: Giants' Jason Pierre-Paul Hasn't Earned Right to Run His Mouth
New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul has become an elite NFL player, but he hasn't earned the right to run his mouth at players like Tom Brady, because the young star hasn't won anything in his career yet.
On Thursday, Pierre-Paul told the reporters that the Giants are in Brady's head because of their pass rush during Big Blue's Week 9 win against the Patriots in Foxboro.

""Yeah, he was reacting to pressure that didn't exist and he was just throwing the ball places that there wasn't a receiver there," Pierre-Paul said, according to ESPNNewYork.com's Ian O'Connor. "So imagine us just getting there even faster and we're actually doing our jobs and getting there and getting hits on him."
"
Good job JPP, you've just given Brady some bulletin board material for Sunday's big game. As competitive as Brady is, you have to expect that he will be even more motivated to beat the Giants in the Super Bowl following these comments.
Pierre Paul also told reporters, "Anybody can be rattled," then added, "Tom Brady is a great quarterback, but at the end of the day, he is just a quarterback. It is not like he is God."
Giants head coach Tom Coughlin is making a huge mistake by letting his players chirp the Patriots all week through the media. As a smart and veteran head coach, Coughlin should no better.
The Patriots already have enough reasons to beat the Giants on Sunday, so New York cannot afford to add fuel to the fire. The last time a team talked this much trash to the Patriots before a Super Bowl was the Philadelphia Eagles in 2004, and we know how that ended for Philly.
Pierre-Paul is a tremendous player, but I cannot respect a guy that has yet to win anything running his mouth and making comments about a player of Brady's caliber, who has won everything as an NFL quarterback. He's accomplished a lot in his brief professional career, but it is disrespectful to trash talk when you haven't even completed two NFL seasons yet.
If Pierre-Paul wins the Super Bowl on Sunday and is a major reason for the Giants' success, then he can speak his mind. But until then, he needs to stop talking and focus on the task at hand.
