LeBron James: Could Miami Heat Star Remove His Talents from South Beach in 2014?
Recently, Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio reported that LeBron James is not happy with the heavy hand with which Pat Riley operates.
It's not hard to see that James likes to enjoy himself on and off the court, and it's no secret that Riley is all business and about winning championships.
There is no questioning that the Miami Heat have the makings of a championship franchise and will be a team to beat for years to come.
Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and James are all arguably in their primes, and it would be a severe disappointment for the group of superstars if they don't win at least one championship in the next few years.
That being said, let's fast-forward to the year 2014.
LeBron will be able to opt out of his contract.
Wade will be 32 years old.
Bosh will be 30.
And LeBron will only be 29, but just as old in NBA years considering they all entered the league together.
Although we cannot predict the future, we can assume that all three players would not be as effective, talented and elite as they are today with all the young talent we see coming up in the NBA, college and even high school.
Let's take a look at the Big Three up in Boston.
As all three near the end of their careers, Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge even talked about blowing up the team in a Boston Globe interview. If they are smart, they will build around Rajon Rondo.
But that's besides the point.
Will the same thing happen to the Heat down the road as the players get older?
It only makes sense that Wade finishes his career in Miami. He has made the Heat what they are today.
Bosh seems to love Miami and everything about the team and the organization.
LeBron loves playing alongside his boys, but there is no doubt in my mind that he misses Akron.
Tough on the outside, but soft on the inside, I wouldn't put aside the possibility of LeBron returning to Cleveland.
However, I don't think he would receive the welcome he might expect, and I don't think LeBron would ever make "The Decision" to return to Cleveland.
That ship has sailed. It would taint his legacy even further and make him look like a little boy who wasn't ready to leave home.
Like 74.1 percent of NBA GM's via a recent NBA.com survey, I too believe the Heat will win the championship this year, and I think it's safe to say that a ring would solidify LeBron's stay in South Beach even further.
Only time can tell what will happen, but despite the speculation and rumors circulating throughout the NBA, LeBron isn't going anywhere.
His decision was meant to be final.
