Strikeforce Results: Report Cards for All Main-Card Fighters

Jeffrey McKinneyJun 2, 2018

Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine is now in the books.

Middleweight champion Luck Rockhold was able to retain his title by knocking out ex-UFC veteran Keith Jardine

Also picking up impressive wins were former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Muhammad "King Mo" Lawal and Robbie Lawler.

Here's a look at the grades for all of the main-card fighters.

Tyler Stinson

1 of 10

Tyler Stinson looked to brawl against Tarec Saffiedine. For the first round and the end of the third round, Stinson did just that.

Stinson threw flying knees and high kicks and cut Saffiedine with punches in the first round.

The only problem is once the fight went to the ground, it was all Saffiedine.

Stinson did little-to-nothing on the ground, and for that, he got the split-decision loss.

Grade: C

Tarec Saffiedine

2 of 10

Tarec Saffiedine was supposed to be the more technical striker in tonight's bout, but it was his opponent, Tyler Stinson, who won the stand-up battle.

Stinson had Saffiedine rocked and cut in the first round. Saffiedine was able to turn it around in the second and third rounds, though, as he took the fight to the ground.

Saffiedine's saving grace in the fight was Stinson's lack of wrestling.

Grade: C

Jordan Mein

3 of 10

Although Jordan Mein got caught by Tyron Woodley's takedowns, he was able to keep the fight close by throwing elbows and strikes on the ground.

Woodley is a tough fighter, but to Mein's credit, he did more work on the ground and had the fight stood up right when he was going for a submission off of his back.

Mein may have picked up a split-decision loss tonight, but at just 22 years old, he still has a long career ahead of him.

Grade: C+

Tyron Woodley

4 of 10

Tonight Tyron Woodley did what he does best. He turned his fight against Jordan Mein into a wrestling match.

Mein's size made it hard for Woodley to really do much of anything on the ground, but he did stay on top for much of the fight.

Although it was not the most exciting way to win, Woodley earned a split-decision victory to remain undefeated.

Grade: B

Lorenz Larkin

5 of 10

Lorenz Larkin picked up his first career loss tonight against Muhammed Lawal.

Larkin wasn't able to get much done as Lawal took the fight to the ground and basically did whatever he wanted.

Larkin is a good striker, but he was not able to get much of anything off tonight as he lost by TKO in the second round.

Grade: F

Muhammed Lawal

6 of 10

Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal was able to pick up another KO victory tonight against Lorenz Larkin.

Lawal was able to use effective wrestling and ground-and-pound to completely dominate the fight.

After the fight, Lawal stated he wanted to go after the vacant Strikeforce light heavyweight championship.

A trip to the UFC to see Quinton "Rampage" Jackson would be more entertaining, though.

Grade: A+

Adlan Amagov

7 of 10

Russian fighter Adlan Amagov looked good in the opening minutes of his fight against Robbie Lawler.

Amagov took Lawler down quickly and looked to keep the dominant position on the ground.

As the fighters were working their way up, though, Amagov threw an illegal knee to Lawler that cost him a point.

That would be the last bit of offensive for Amagov, as Lawler caught him with a flying knee and finished him with punches on the ground.

Grade: C-

Robbie Lawler

8 of 10

After losing two straight fights, Robbie Lawler was able to get back on the winning side of things tonight.

Not long after getting taken down, Lawler got hit with an illegal knee from his opponent, Adlan Amagov.

Lawler was able to regain his composure and hit Amagov with a flying knee that sent him to the ground, and he finished him with punches.

Grade: A-

Keith Jardine

9 of 10

Although Keith Jardine was able to make his first title fight against Luke Rockhold an interesting one, Rockhold proved to be too much.

After much back-and-forth action, Jardine got caught by Rockhold.

Jardine didn't seem to be fazed by the weight-cut, but he was a step too slow for Rockhold.

Grade: C

Luke Rockhold

10 of 10

Luke Rockhold was able to retain his Strikeforce middleweight title against former UFC vet Keith Jardine.

Rockhold was a step quicker than Jardine and was able to take his best shots.

Rockhold is now 9-1 (7-0 in Strikeforce) and looking to climb up the middleweight rankings.
