Aaron Rodgers: 'Would've Been Wild' to Play Packers at Lambeau in 2024 NFL Season
A return to Lambeau Field this season "would've been wild" for New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers told Kyle Brandt on the Good Morning Football podcast that he was "selfishly" hoping the Jets would get a true road game against an NFC North foe rather than matching up in London.
The four-time MVP said he would've had "a lot of wild emotions" at Lambeau, citing his memories from when the Green Bay Packers played franchise legend Brett Favre in 2009 when he was on the Minnesota Vikings.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
The ship has all but sailed on Rodgers playing at Lambeau Field again unless he has another change of scenery. The Jets aren't scheduled to play Green Bay on the road between now and the 2028 season, and it's one away matchup against an NFC North team is in 2028. By then, the Hall of Fame-bound signal-caller will have presumably retired.
Assuming he's a member of the opposing team, Rodgers probably wouldn't be welcomed back in Green Bay with open arms. The reaction would be much different from the reception Favre received when he came back with the Vikings, though.
Favre committed a cardinal sin when he signed with one of the Packers' biggest rivals. That didn't totally erase everything he did in his 16 seasons at Lambeau Field but undoubtedly burned a lot of goodwill.
The divorce between Rodgers and the Packers during the 2023 offseason was much less contentious than Favre's short-lived retirement and subsequent comeback in 2008 as well.
Everyone, including the Green Bay fanbase, was likely ready to move on at that point. The will he, won't he drama surrounding Rodgers' future had grown exhausting, so a firm resolution one way or the other was a welcome development.
It helped how Jordan Love steady grew into the starting role as last year unfolded. Love threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in the regular season and then shredded the Dallas Cowboys defense in an NFC Wild Card Round win.
Packers fans don't need to long for the franchise quarterback they once had when another has seemingly emerged.
