Raiders Rumors: Davante Adams Has 'Real, Legitimate Hamstring Injury' amid Trade Buzz
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams will miss his second straight game on Sunday due to a "real, legitimate hamstring injury" and not because of his reported trade request, ESPN's Adam Schefter said Thursday on SportsCenter.
That injury could make it more difficult for the Raiders to find a trade destination for Adams ahead of the Nov. 5 deadline, according to Schefter.
"It's not simple to execute a big deal, especially when the wide receiver like Davante Adams is nursing a real, legitimate hamstring injury that's expected to prevent him from playing Sunday against the Denver Broncos," Schefter said. "Teams that trade for Davante Adams now know that they wouldn't be able to play him, and they would have to pay him roughly $1 million each week that he's on the roster that he doesn't play.

"And so teams aren't rushing to make the deal happen even though there are any number of teams interested."
Schefter previously reported that Adams was considered "week-to-week" after suffering the injury in practice last Thursday. He missed last Sunday's contest against the Cleveland Browns and is expected to be sidelined against the Denver Broncos this weekend.
According to Schefter, Adams "pulled up lame" while "grabbing his hamstring" in the final minutes of Raiders' practice.
Adams was seen attending that Sunday's win over the Browns while wearing street clothes on the sidelines. He reportedly submitted his trade request to the Raiders the following day, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo and The Athletic's Tashan Reed and Vic Tafur.
Reed and Tafur reported the Raiders "have told teams they would consider trade packages for Adams that included a second-round pick and additional compensation, per league and team sources."
Adams is signed through 2026, but his salaries are not guaranteed past 2024. His current deal is a candidate for a renegotiation or cut after this season.
The wideout is currently playing the season on a $16.89 million salary, per Over the Cap.
As of now, any team trading for Adams would take on a cap hit of $13.13 million of that salary, plus $390,000 in space for active roster bonuses per game. Those numbers will decrease with each week, as noted by NBC Sports' Mike Florio.
Schefter reported on Wednesday that Adams has a "wishlist of places to land" topped by the New York Jets and the New Orleans Saints.
According to Schefter, Adams "ideally would like to play with a QB he knows" like former teammates Aaron Rodgers or Derek Carr.
Rapoport added that the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers have all either asked after the Raiders wideout "or are places Adams would be happy landing."
If Adams sits out Sunday's game against the Broncos, it will mark his first time missing two games in a season since his 2020 campaign for the Green Bay Packers.
Adams was named to six straight Pro Bols between 2017 and 2022, and topped 1,000 receiving yards for the fourth straight season in 2023.
It seems likely the Raiders will continue receiving trade interest in the 31-year-old wideout, although his injury and cap hit could impact what offers the team will receive in return.
