WWE News: Latest Health Updates on WWE Champion CM Punk and Mark Henry
Injuries are as big a part of the wrestling business as clotheslines and body slams.
Professional wrestling is certainly not ballet, and injuries happen all the time, as is evidenced by the current state of the WWE. Sin Cara, Rey Mysterio, Alberto Del Rio, Christian and Randy Orton are among the notable names sidelined with various injuries at the moment.
And apparently, another major WWE star should be joining them on the shelf, but won’t be.

From PWInsider.com (via WrestleZone.com):
"Several sources have indicated Mark Henry has been getting high praise backstage for working injured through the WWE live event tours and TV tapings. Henry has been in pain for some time and while WWE has offered him some time off, The World's Strongest Man has turned it down according to PWInsider.com.
"
Props are in order for Henry here.
I realize that wrestlers work through injuries all the time, and at least part of the reason why Henry is doing that is so that he doesn’t lose his spot in the main event scene. But the dude is 400-plus pounds and suffering from a leg injury, so he’s probably hurting more than usual and still continuing to work through it.
Thankfully, Henry is being a trooper because the WWE really can’t afford to lose him at the moment, especially if another top star has to miss some time.
From PWInsider.com (via WrestleNewz.com):
"CM Punk was hurting when he returned backstage after the match against Dolph Ziggler at Monday’s RAW Supershow in Memphis. Punk is said to be banged up but there is no talk of him taking time off. Punk was shaken up after taking the bad slam from Ziggler in the match.
"
Though Punk as WWE Champion hasn’t translated to high ratings for Monday Night RAW, losing him for any amount of time would obviously be a huge blow to the show, and WWE officials may want to seriously consider giving him a little time to recuperate by limiting what he does on house shows.
Punk has been going strong for the last year or so, and he’s put his body through a lot of hell lately, with a number of high-profile bouts, including that TLC match last month that he’s probably still feeling the effects of.
Punk’s certainly been a workhorse for the WWE, and an injury to him would certainly throw a wrench in the company’s creative plans going forward.
That being said, young stars like Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler and Wade Barrett have really stepped up their game as of late, and the WWE has been able to weather the storm of injuries, thanks in large part to their improvements over the last several months.
